    Al Einstein,
More are coming. Stay tuned for more exciting flavors of Kool-Aid.

    boyzone,
The GB isn't "inspired", they're "guided" by Hojovah's Holy Spirit. Like they were "guided" to teach that the literal generation that understood, was alive, was born, was conceived in 1914 would live to see the big A. Miraculously, in 1995, they were "guided" to redefine "this generation". Then they were re-re-guided again this year. Whatever they believe now is THE TRUTH. Okay, they aren't "prophets", but you sure as he!l better treat them like prophets.

Para. 3: "There are many reasons why the slave class deserves our trust. Two outstanding reasons are: (1) Jehovah trusts the slave class. (2) Jesus also trusts the slave."

"Many reasons..."? Actually, they probably had to think for 4 months to come up with those two pathetic, imaginary reasons. It would be more accurate to say, "There are many reasons why the slave class doesn't deserve our trust." But frankly, it would be impossible to narrow it down to just two outstanding reasons not to trust Botchtower Corporation.

What two outstanding reasons would you pick for not trusting them?
I'm thinking: (1) CT Russell. (2) "Judge" Rutherford. Wow, that's two and I haven't even gotten started !

What a classic example of circular reasoning and fallacious argument. Consider this :

"An argument is circular if its conclusion is among its premises, if it assumes (either explicitly or not) what it is trying to prove. Such arguments are said to beg the question. A circular argument fails as a proof because it will only be judged to be sound by those who already accept its conclusion." www.logicalfallacies .com

This article says , we are the FDS, the FDS speaks for God, so you must listen to us.....because we are the FDS....

Even when I was active I wouuld have seen that, chuckled and answered up as usual, because "It is the truth" so I did not worry about a few badly scripted articles. I can see now how wrong I was.

How can they say that God and Jesus trust them? Do they have a hotline to the heaven?...the reasons they give are pathetic. They may have spread to 230 lands , so what? (in over 130 years) An increase of 70,000 to 100,000 congregations is not so great spread over 15 years. !

Every thing they say is pure conjecture and trumpet blowing.."FOLLOW US ! WE ARE SPEAKING FOR GOD AND CHRIST"

Perhaps I would first read Matt 7: 15 "Be on the watch for false prophets"

    Hi Albert

Yep, lets hope the wackier these watchtower's get, the easier it'll be for people like your wife to see through the tripe.

I agree hun, but surely their not "guided" or "inspired" but SPIRIT DIRECTED!!! Thats it! Just like the apostles were "borne along by Holy Spirit" Oh hang on, but that would mean they're INSPIRED and they said they're not. So they must be GUIDED,- which means......they're "borne along by Holy Spirit"! Yes? No. Oh hang on....but that would mean they're inspired and they said they weren't. SOOOOO... that must mean they're SPIRIT DIRECTED!! Yes?

So SPIRIT DIRECTED is different to being guided and inspired by Holy Spirit.

SO let me get this straight. They are NOT inspired which means they are not led by the Holy Spirit. But they are GUIDED by the Holy Spirit and DIRECTED by the Holy Spirit. But not LED by it.

Fancy me not knowing the difference, silly me.

This study was amazing. I literally had heartburn. I couldn't believe on paragraph 14 the blatant lie about the annointed decreasing. unbelivable. Only about 10-15% commented. 3 of our 'power elders' commented about 3 times each. The other elders there were silent. What a crazy religion.

A bible study I'm friendly with, asked me why the 'same ones always comment'...I just smiled and said 'I dunno', nerves maybe.

This was a deeply troubling article, mostly for the reasons already given here--blank assertions without an iota of real, scriptural evidence, the bait and switch of starting with an unobjectionable premise--"follow the lamb"--to one a bit more difficult to swallow--"follow the fds"--to one that violates what Jesus said about not following human leaders--"follow the gb."

Moreover, if you read the context of Matt 25:45, it's obvious Jesus isn't discussing the matter of an earthly hierarchy or organization but the importance of staying awake and alert to the events going on around you. In the verses that follow, the faithful and discreet slave of the parable is categorized as an evil slave. What's the difference? It's the same slave, mind you, not two different entities as the WT asserts.

The difference is that in the first case, the slave was staying alert and doing the work assigned, which was taking care of the domestics. By CONTRAST, in the second instance, the slave was not staying alert to the master's return and had fallen into abusing the ones he was entrusted to care for. This parable works beautifully within the chapter rhetorically speaking, which discusses a series of contrasts, ie, the bad example of the behavior of the folks in Noah's day contrasted with the (implied)correct behavior of "taking notice"; a verse or two later, the example of one man in the field taken, one not, one woman grinding taken, one not.

But the WT places only minimal weight on context, preferring the eisegesis of their contrived theology. Thanks, Blondie. Nice work.

    Comment from JW

    Other points I enjoyed were
    1) the Great Crowd belongs to the Faithful and Discreet Slave.
    2) we should never be ashamed to identify ourselves with the Faithful and
    Discreet Slave
3)The 4.5 million increase of proclaimers in the past 15 years is proof
that Christ is directing his annointed followers
and I could go on ...
Every paragraph was a thrill yesterday.

    and another comment:

You see a whole WT article on why we should do as the FDS do. Paragraph 9 is interesting. They basically own absolutely everything. Right now, on earth they are the ultimate authority. And with the Study they essentially reminded us of that fact.

So my friend when they tell you to Jump... you reply: "from what skyscraper"

Hence the "Follow the Christ" theme last year.

Follow the Christ = Christ - "annointed" = Follow the FDS.

    FDS = Gibbering Buddy

Therefore Follow the Lamb = Follow the blasphemies of eight old dust farting reptiles, who don't even read their own crap.

There are many reasons why the slave class deserves our trust. Two outstanding reasons are: (1) Jehovah trusts the slave class. (2) Jesus also trusts the slave.

Were it true that Jehovah existed and the theology about him entailed the existence of the FDS class, it still would not follow that Jehovah/Jesus trust them. It would be more accurate from the tone of the bible that Jehovah / Jesus (were they to exist) entrusted the FDS. Further, based on biblical examples of those whom J&J entrusted with responsibility, obedience to an entrusted theocratic authority never abdicated personal responsibility even when the exercise of personal responsibility required disobeying the entrusted authority.

Stick that in their cracktower pipe & smoke it.

Here are some simple reasons they don't deserve our trust:

    1. They shy from personal responsibility by writing in a third person anonymous manner.

    2. They maintain the logical contradiction of requiring individuals to behave as-if they are inspired while at the same time admitting they are not inspired.

    3. They fail to acknowledge or retract past mistakes.

    4. They lack virtues they themselves espouse, such as humility.

    5. They argue from the authority of their position, not the strength of their evidence.

    6. They require people to do work technically entrusted to them (preaching), while taking the credit for it.

When a GB member starts washing feet, I'll listen to what they have to say about character.

Q 3. Why is it important that we trust the Slave?

Because they will cut you off from your family if you don't.

Q 11, 12. How has the slave shown itself to be faithful and discreet?

By telling us of the dangers of aluminum cookware, the false hope of vaccines, that germs don't cause disease (constipation does), and from the 60's, that you heart literally thinks and IS the seat of all emotions.

    Truly a blessing from Jehovah!

Q13. According to Zechariah's prophecy, how is it possible to demonstrate trust in the faithful and discreet slave?

Actually it is ludicrous to think that we can combine an unrelated statement from one of the prophets to reinforce a parable that has been turned into one of the major doctrines of the WT. Forget it.

Q 15. How should individual Christians respond to timely spiritual food from the slave and organizational decisions made by the slave?

Personally, I line my birdcage with it; it does not work well for toilet tissue.

Just for once, I would like to see the WT writers have to answer Blondie's scholarly dissection of their weekly indoctrination.

Thanks Blondie; you rock hard like early Clapton.
