    My reply:

    Hi,

    I have looked at our history and have seen multiple end-time predictions. How can the organization, which says it is appointed to handle Jesus earthly affairs then speak falsehoods in Jehovah’s name? They used to teach us that the generation that saw the event of 1914- the physical generation HAD to be here when the end came. Every Watchtower up till 11/95 said at the bottom on the table of contents page that the magazine built ‘confidence in the creator’s promise of a peaceful new world before the generation that saw the event of 1914 completely passed away.’ They changed the meaning of generation 2 times since. They spoke a falsehood in Jehovah’s name, since he did not promise a peaceful new world before the 1914 generation passed away. Deuteronomy is very specific in calling someone who speaks something in the name of Jehovah that does not come to pass.

    Deut 18:18 A prophet I shall raise up for them from the midst of their brothers, like you; and I shall indeed put my words in his mouth, and he will certainly speak to them all that I shall command him. 19 And it must occur that the man who will not listen to my words that he will speak in my name, I shall myself require an account from him.

    20 “‘However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.

    Jehovah calls them a false prophet- not me. From 1969 – 1980 we did not allow organ transplants. Who gave us light to ban them? Did Jehovah give us wrong light? Does Jehovah think lightly of those who died as a result of this wrong teaching? Who gave the Governing body light to ban blood transfusions in the 50’s? Then to suddenly in the late 90’s allow blood fractions but just not whole blood? Fractions come from whole blood not poured out. Can’t you see the Society know they are wrong on blood and have misapplied Scriptures to arrive at their ban on it BUT know that if they immediately allowed transfusions they’d possibly be sued majorly? So they are slowly allowing it more and more. I agree nothing should ruin our relationship with Jehovah. But After studying the organization’s history and reading the bible I can not see where one must come through an organization to serve Jehovah. I do not mean this to be rude or arrogant, I am being completely open and honest here. While the elders gave the wrong advice in the child molestations where did they get their directives? The Society, which is where we get all our direction. Do those poor children get another childhood?

    SHE SAID:

    I see your reasoning, and I see you are sincere. My take on all the misinterpretations, and unclear thinking is we are all a bunch of inadequate, messed up people, with ;dysfunctional ;brains, even the brothers who spend every waking hour trying to provide food at the proper time for us don't have a direct line to Jehovah's thoughts, so they are ganna screw it up, not every time, but sometimes. I have proven to myself they are the best link to keeping up with what Jehovah wants from us, and how to please him. ;
    Maybe I'm not like the witnesses you know, I follow the guidelines, but if any threat comes to my family from with in the congregation, I'm not going to stand there and take it, nor do I unconditionally trust those in the congregation, I don't let my kids spend the night at others homes, just because they go to the meetings. No child can get their childhood back, and that's why I won't allow anyone to take my child's childhood away! People are too trusting, I don't care who the person is, I don't trust them with my child. I'm just sorry for the kids who had to go through the horrific events they went through, that their parents weren't a little more in tuned with the slime balls doing the acts, and then didn't have the backbone to say "Screw you, I'm not letting this pig hurt another child, I'm going to the cops!!"
    I hope you do stay close to Jehovah, he does read the heart, and it seems like you are passionate about finding the truth!! ;
    It's been nice talking to you.....How the heck did you get my email,,,,do I know you?

    I replied:

    Hi,

    My friend Elane Wachetr had sent me some forwards and you name was on it. I understand what you are saying on the misinterpretations and you are right- none of us have a direct line to Jehovah. But it seems to me that the Society has claimed in the Watchtower to be Jehovah’s appointed and sole channel of truth. It seems these misinterpretations in his name only seem to make his name and word look ugly. I do not see in the Bible some sort of corporate responsibility where we are to follow those who we think best adhere. The Bible tells us to not lean on our own understanding but to rely on Jehovah and the Holy Spirit to guide us into truth. Luke 11:13 says 13 Therefore, if YOU , although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to YOUR children, how much more so will the Father in heaven give holy spirit to those asking him !”

    It doesn’t tell us to go to someone else or an organization because they have the Holy Spirit. I see personally, not corporate responsibility.

    You seem like a very bright, sincere person. You seem to be a very deep thinker.

    My question is this…since we are all inadequate, messed up people (and I admit we are LOL), and why would it make sense that we are to follow anyone else except for Jesus as revealed to us thru the Bible, led by the Holy Spirit and trusting in Jehovah to do his will? I agree we can follow others example of faith. But the Society thru the Watchtower seems to me to go beyond what the bible actually says on many things and binds them up as rules that members MUST follow, at the threat of being disfellowshipped if they do not. You can ask questions but must accept the answers given by the Watchtower publications, even if you can not conscientiously do so. In Romans it says that if we do things that we deep down think are wrong, or go along with things we feel are wrong it is a sin. Yet that is what we have to do, or we are no longer one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It reminds me so much of the religious leaders of Jesus day and he had the strongest of words for them. They started out with good intentions. They were dispersed into Babylon due to extreme idolatry. Upon their return the elders and leaders feared falling into the same trap. So they made many, many rules. These went beyond compassion and were for the protection of the people. This legalistic approach was rebuked by Jesus. That feels like the environment we are now under.

    Um, okay.

    I'm sure she won't mind if I apply that line of reasoning towards the Mormons or the Roman Catholic Church then.
