It's Here! Mountain Dew with REAL sugar!!

  If you get any of the "throwback" sodas with real sugar, get them in glass bottles - if available. That's even better.

  I don't drink too many sodas but when I do, I get a local soda that is made with real sugar - but it only comes in the glass bottles. The can version uses corn syrup sweetener. It's not as good.

  I wish they would make the 6 or 8oz bottles available again too. 12 oz is too much. I just want a quick taste, not get loaded down.

  Speaking of Mountain Dew...that was my favorite as a kid. It was so cool to go into the general store and get that green bottled sweet soda out of the icebox. Remember the little mountain man that was on the bottles way back when?

  I'm sure you've noticed that the size of the bottles is going up along with the size of the people drinking from them. I drove by a school the other day while the kids were going home and didn't see one kid that wasn't overweight. I'm sure there are kids attending there that aren't fat and that a large number of the heavy ones just happened to be crossing the road at that time but when I was a kid you might have had one or two overweight kids in a class. They weren't the majority. Fast food places now have 44oz cups with free refills. No wonder people a getting fatter and fatter.

  My brother in law used to haul food supplies in a tanker truck. He said on the "kosher" loads, they would pay some guy in a funny hat big money to come out and do some kind of heebie jeebie incantations over the load. It was hilarious to hear him tell it.

  So the rabbi blessed the load before it took off. Big deal. The rabbi is supposed to bless the food. Your brother in law was not privy to the work that went on behind the scenes to make the food kosher.

  I guess you could say I don't have much respect for "kosher" stuff, or religion in general for that matter.

  Something tells me you never had any respect to begin with. And considering your background, I would think you know better than to listen to hearsay.
