Okay, I have had "Starpower" by Sonic Youth on repeat for the past 3 hours. Love the song but I should probably change it to a new tune. Which should I change it to?

The Dead Milkman - "Punk Rock Girl"

    The Cure - Disintegration

The Smiths - How Soon is Now?

Pixies - Where Is My Mind?

    Hüsker Dü - Sorry Somehow

    ??

    Someone choose for me. :)

LEOILAIA- I'm an old fashioned geezer and I still buy CD's - have tons of them, blues, rock, reggae , you name it. My wife and I have all our record albums from years ago as well- some in mint condition. Occasionally if I see a rare record- I will still buy vinyl. So everybody call me a dinosaur- I know ! Proud of it though! I'm a rebel- I change and adapt slowly ! LOL! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Not on the list, but try 3 tunes from Tears For Fears.

    Elemental, Cold, Mad World

leavingwt.....Can't go wrong with the Smiths. I would have to put "How Soon is Now?" down to being one of my five favorite songs of all time.

musky.....I love the "The Hurting" album and I've got "Mad World" on right now. But I don't think I could listen to it for three hours in a row like some other tunes.

Dagney....I use Winamp on my puter and iPod is my preferred remote device. But right now I'm playing off a DVD-ROM of all 560 '80s songs. I also went through the trouble of getting every song annotated with cover art and original album info (thanks to Wikipedia!).

I only buy CDs for my daughter.......If I really like the artist.

Can't remember how I functioned in a world without downloads on demand.....

Hmmm... I think the last CDs I bought were some Naxos Classical ones I picked up at Half-Price books for a couple bucks each. Some chant and baroque compilations.

flipper....I have a bunch of old vinyl records I collected in my early twenties, mostly classic rock but also some synthpop (especially Ultravox). I am particularly happy to have "Little Games" by the Yardbirds and the Herbie Hancock soundtrack of Blow Up. I don't know what to do with them though...I don't own a turntable but I hang onto them for memory's sake.

Sacrifical Loon....I had a thread here long ago with really early music (from ancient Canaan and Greece), but I don't think the sound links work anymore. Some of the ancient Greek music was really weird. They must have used very different scales.

I'm back to "Starpower" btw, I guess that's what I'm in the mood for....I love the weird tuning in that song and it never gets old.
