Aloe is a very good suggestion and if it still smarts you may consider Polysporin (the formulation for burns).

Yepp, while in orientation, the trainer could not stress enough to us that we should never call the portables "laptops". And to always recommend using them on a hard level surface. I've gotten quite a few calls actually about a certain model. The entire case practically acts like a heat sink.

I wouldn't be too worried about long term scarring there Leolaia. You'll probably see it slowly going away. Take care.

well i have a MacBook Pro and it leaves burn marks on my legs - in all truth they arent designed to be in close contact with your skin for long amounts of time, even through fabric. macs get really hot!

I think I know what happened. You may have been watching George Burns, Stephen King's "Fire starter", or"Mississippi Burning". Try watching movies like, "Cool Runnings", "Cool Hand Luke", or "Be Cool". That should fix the problem.

My laptops power supply gets much hotter than the laptop. When my wrist starts aching from too much mousing, I lay my wrist on the power supply, it relieves the pain.

We're getting a laptop, probably a MacBook Pro, and the first thing I did was buy the tabletop stand for it. We haven't even chosen the computer yet but we already know about the danger of burns from friends with laptops/notebooks.

Leo, go ahead and try the aloe or the comfrey. I have some burn scars that I didn't tend to right away and some natural remedies helped loads anyway. (Seems like I used Vitamin E and Apricot Oil.)

Well, I'm going tomorrow for a squish-your-boob-on-a-cold-metal-plate-o-gram, so if I see a store nearby that has remedies, I'll look for it.

Even my power sipping eeePC can do a slow roast on the underside. Best to always make sure it has ventilation, and put something solid under it while on your lap, a book or clipboard will do.

Dang! This never occurred to me. I'm sorry for your burn though.
