Catholic Catechism #969 "Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus

When I get to missing my Mom and Dad I stand on this scripture:

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. - Ps 27:10

Selective quotation in your post, Perry. It's a fraudulent practice worthy of a Watchtower brochure. Why didn't you post the paragraph following #969 in the CCC?

You've seen and quoted paragraph 969, so why haven't you seen the following paragraph? Do you mean that you didn't quote from the source? You seem to be quoting the CCC without understanding it's organizational structure. Why don't you look it up from the source. The Catechism is online at several sources. Here is one.

You are better off understanding what you criticize, when you criticize it. At least making an attempt at understanding. This is more intellectually honest.

I am sorry if I came across as heated, but polemics was not the point of this thread.

Do you mind if I ask you a question? You have spoken several times negatively about Fundamental Christians like me. Why?

Perry, JWs are very similar to the Fundies I know. They frighten me. My next door neighbor at my old house was a Church of Christ minister. Man, talk about a total nut job. Very Fundie, homeschooled using Bob Jones University Press materials (which should probably be classified as hate materials), believed that Jesus turned water into grape juiceat the wedding at Cana, believed in a literal Noah's Ark. I guess the incredible intellectual dishonestly of this man turned me off so much that I equate Fundies with him.

    AGREED!

Intellectual honesty is so important to me. I don't like labels, although i have failed in labeling people on occasion. I think that as a whole, its fair to say that intellectual dishonesty is a trait of many fundies. Although I leave it to the individual, whether on this board or another environment, to show their own personal level of intellectual/emotional honesty.

I don't think any characterization beyond merely reading certain people's words will show this.

    Thanks for the link BTS

Although I know I couldn't go back, I sometimes miss certain aspects of the RC church. It's nice to talk about it occasionally
