Read the first paragraph (below)....wow how/why do they write this stuff?

"THERE is a difference—a big difference—between education and propaganda. Education shows you how to think. Propaganda tells you what to think. Good educators present all sides of an issue and encourage discussion.Propagandists relentlessly force you to hear their view and discourage discussion. Often their real motives are not apparent. They sift the facts, exploiting the useful ones and concealing the others. They also distort and twist facts, specializing in lies and half-truths. Your emotions, not your logical thinking abilities, are their target."

Read the whole article, it's rich rich rich.

This just reinforces the JW mindset. I remember reading as a Witness about cults and how to prove that JWs are not a cult but Catholics were. If you are 'in' then you just take it as it comes and interpret it as you are told.

Man I was screwed up then.

Do you ever wonder if articles like this are written by a rogue writer who wants witnesses to think about the concept of propaganda? Is it possible?

    Sadly Angie,

Any active Witless will read those words and apply the bits about propagandist methods to opposers of any hue, they will not think that those very methods are used constantly in all publications and prononcements by the WBT$.

It is a series of four articles.

    Get to know them.

They are available on EVERYONES computer should you need them.

They are really easy to find. All you have to do is Google watchtower propaganda and one of the articles should appear as the first hit.

    Cheers

Is the Work of Jehovah's Witnesses Propagandistic?

Article discussed in detail on this forum, here:

    Propagandistic? Us? Heavens, no!

It is almost unbelievable that they would so abuse the World Book Encyclopedia. Almost.

This describes the Washtowel Slaveholdery itself. They not only don't encourage discussion about doctrine, but they ban it. These days, anyone that so much as makes a comment that gives a non-approved illustration or more than mildly paraphrases the paragraph will be hauled into the back room for a hounding, with the possibility of getting disfellowshipped (apostasy). They have also banned small independent Bible study groups or using independent sources for cross-referencing the accuracy of the Not Well Translated version or the Washtowel doctrines.

If this is not "relentlessly forcing one to hear their viewpoint and discouraging discussion", I don't know what is.

Is the Work of Jehovah's Witnesses Propagandistic?

    The article itself is propagandistic!

This thing is almost a parody! You can't make this stuff up.
