Who have you lost?

  Pretty much my family on both sides. The worldlies don't speak to me because we were cut off at a young age because, well, they were worldly and bad. As a result I never got to know them and don't even remember their names. That is a lot of people. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc.

  JW family are reluctant to speak to me in person. I'm a fader so they will speak to me superficially. They want to avoid contact in case my evilness rubs off. Because, of course, I am an evil person. Not believing Armageddon is coming and all.

  On one hand I think I am better off not having contact with the dubs because they are so nutz, then I think about all the fun I had with them when they weren't in JW robo mode and they could be lots of fun. That makes me sad.

  Guess I was thinking about memorial day and sadder for the people who consider me dead than those who actually are.

  Lost friendship with many members of my extended and immediate family, not all dubs either. Some were estranged the year Armageddon was coming and we had to be obnoxious and morally superior farts to them. The relationships are now cordial but not close, even though I've tried very hard to repair them, they just lost respect for me. These are nice people and it's a source of sadness to me.

  Others are either dub sympathizers, still dubs themselves, or our relationships were irreparably harmed by the tumultuous dub years. The still-dubs, honestly, I have intentionally excised from my life because they're horrible people.

  I lost a lot of friends in 1975 and was never able to create that many new friendships. I was the laughing stock--a crazy kid who feared Smurfs and Snickers candy bars and thought Girl Scouts were evil. I don't blame them.

  When I run into people who recognize me there is invariably an awkward silence or avoidance. I never have those reunions like normal people have, when they run into a childhood friend and hug and laugh.

  I've lost my mother, father, siblings, all the friends I grew up with, my best friend, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

  Tis sad really when I think about it. If only I had resisted the temptation to get baptized at a young age I would still be able to talk to them now.

  NO, I just live longer then the rest of them. ( my Family has problems with heart and Diabetic.)
