You can't swagger when you're chest deep in sh!t.
The "swagger" of the Organization is gone - or is it my imagination?

I believe that the time is right for educated Christians to reach out to Jehovah's Witnesses and offer the biblical teaching of Salvation through faith alone doctrine as opposed to the heretical salvation through an organization taught by the cults.
I completely agree.

Good Morning BTS,
Speaking of preaching Salvation By Faith Alone You said:
I'd love to, if it was actually biblical
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. - Acts 16:30,31Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. - John 6:28,29I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold , but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber...Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. - Jn.10: 1-7
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. - Rom. 4: 4,5

I will agree with you. I'm 41 and I recall all those good old days. We had 4 day assembleys, 3 times a week meetings, field service, GB members visiting our country, giving special 2 hour talks(only to the "spiritual ones")On Sunday field service at the mid 80's had 100 people (cong,of 140)
Now it is all gone down the drain...I see Mormons more often in the streets preaching rather than JW's(and I live in an Orthodox country) I believe that after the generation "definition"in 1995 WT has lost many things that could use to control JW's.
1.Generation is gone. The importance of 1914 again is gone since those that supposed to be alive and see the end, now are dead
2.The preaching work was supposed to separate the sheeps from goats. Now this is gone, so doesn't matter if you preach or not since preaching does not separate any long
3.New ones actually are in from 1995 and onwards, most in my age left WT, and young ones don;t really care
Time is against WT. Their time is running out

As we move further into the new 21st Century to me Armagedon looks like a bit of a joke...I think many are picking up this vibe and just go along with the flow for association.

Inevitable result of the loss of urgency. As the poster suggested, historians will look back at 1975 as the beginning of the end for the cult. And 1995, when they kicked the central "generation" doctrine to the curb, was the tipping point in dub history.
Prior to that, the prevailing mindset was: "We have the Truth and we only have a few more years to get everybody on board before it's too late!"
Now it's: "I hope to God we are right about this."

Great thread! It's hard to swagger when everything you do turns to sh*t.

What WillyLoman said!
There is no urgency. From a practical, non-religious standpoint, many of the young JWs know that they are screwed.

The swagger of the bOrg is gone and the world never really noticed that swagger or cared.
That for me is comforting.

Besides, all the talent and excitement has moved onto this forum.
You said it!
Yep, the thrill is gone. The last convention I attended, 2004, everybody looked weary and beaten down. Even the microphones seemed to droop!
Sad.
