Do you suppose there is a form of human life somewhere else in the universe?

human life? its improbable that evolution would follow the exact same tract twice anywhere. its driven by a very specific set of circumstances unique to a ecosystem or sets of ecosystems.

intelligent life? maybe. i don't think we will ever know as I do not think that hyper light speed is possible or ever will be.

life? probably, given the trillions and trillions of planets in the universe

the odds are so impossible that there are not enough zeros to go behind the number.......plus.....if i am not mistaken......there is STILL no photographic evidence of any other solid planet in the universe other than in our solar system......math and gravitational pull are not enough for me.......so they SAY there are other planets....but even with Hubbell there are no pics of them.....oompa

and please let me know if i am wrong about that......thanks

Oompa, no telescope in existence can resolve enough detail to view Earth sized planets orbiting other stars. Even Jupiter sized objects are difficult to detect. The interstellar distances involved are enormous.

That is not to say that non-stellar objects do not exist. There is plenty of evidence for that in the abundance of "dust" clouds visible in our galaxy, some of the best known being visible in the constellation Orion. According to astronomers, our solar system got its start in one of those regions of interstellar gas and dust.

Of course, "dust" in space can refer to sizable chunks of rock, comets, and asteroids. If there is enough of it in the right place at the right time, the dust coalesces into moons and planets. If there is enough hydrogen, then stars can form.

I've always enjoyed the science of Astronomy. I even built a 12" Dobsonian telescope once.

Like I said, if evolution is as common as we think it is, and if our solar system is as typical as it is made out to be, then there must be millions of technologically advanced life forms in our galaxy alone. Some of them would be more primitive than ours, others would be thousands of years more advanced. Such advanced civilizations would leave such an enormous evidentiary footprint that a debate over whether they exist or not would be moot.

    You silly thang!

our world cannot be seen from light years away - therefore we don't exist until somebody out there can prove it!!

Not only is space infinite but so is time, so all that can be imagined is possible.

    Deep I know, lol.
