It would possibly be an embarrassment if a householder was left a Kool-Aid washtowel instead of a Showcase, especially if one was trying to teach the householder that the religion isn't that bad after all. Plus, it would leave the witless without a Kool-Aid for the study.

What if a householder asked specifically for a 'study edition' or 'members only' edition? what would the jw say? I ask because one of my anti jw brochures I pass out had a large blank space and I added a few questions (meant for non jw's) and one of the questions was if they knew that jw's had two sets of literature, one for the public and one for members only and what are they hiding? just to make them think how cultish jw's may be.

If one is officially called the Study Edition, what do they call the one for the householder? How does one distinguish between the two?

NO, A JW COULD NOT GIVE A WRONG EDITION OF WT TO HOUSEHOLDERS. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THAT TO EVER HAPPEN. JEHOVAH GOD WOULD NOT ALLOW THAT TYPE OF MISTAKE TO EVER HAPPEN AS LONG AS HE CONTROLS THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE WATCHTOWERS. BUT IF SATAN THE DEVIL COULD OVERTAKE JEHOVAH GOD AND TAKE CONTROL OF THE MAGAZINES THEN HE COULD MAKE A JW GIVE THE WRONG EDITION OF THE WT.

The first of the month WT editions are for the general public---the 15th is designed only for jws.
