yes these men have a lot of power, but outside of a cushy lifestyle, what do they really have, it is not an overly lavish environment, no fancy cars, I doubt very much in the way of fancy meals......yes they do not have to worry about another thing in the rest of their lives, but I can not see how the existence would be all that enjoyable.

Who are they making the $$$$ for.......what are the $$$$ used for??

I can't find my references just now, I'll have to keep looking. But I discovered something very interesting twenty years ago when I was doing my research, both contained in the 1975 yearbook.

J F Rutherford's "advertise"speech listed off a bunch of things: "Do you believe that Jesus returned in 1874?" etc that witnesses believed then, but not now. A direct quote ended after "believe."

A discussion of Beth Sarim stated that it was built for Rutherfords use due to health issues. A direct quote about that quote immediately before a full quote would have included the part about it being held in trust for the Princes.

It struck me at the time that whoever put together that yearbook KNEW he was distorting history.

For me the answer to your question is yes.

I think the average Witness believes there were a few rare incidents of child abuse among some "bad Witnesses" and it was quickly and lovingly handled by the WTS reps. Voila, problem all gone, the wonderful GB solves everything for us, have some more Koolaid.

I have to say, it was really shocking to me the first time I read the depth and scope of it a few years ago. But, Witnesses are a perfect set up for pedophiles and other abusers. The mind control is already in place, so these predators just walk in and take advantage of what's already there, a perfect set up to have total control over a child. It's amazing there wasn't MORE of it going on.

But, you have to go to outside sources to find out that they paid out all that money to victims. It wasn't exactly published in the Watchtower. :/

The Society is a lucrative non profit business. The fact that they can take all the money and real estate and wills and donations and not give back to the people who can use them within their own Organization tells me they are storing up treasures for themselves. They want people to contribute to THEM, even if they have very little means themselves. They take your money, your youth and your life and give you nothing in return. They keep it!

We don't really know who the real power holders are on the financial side of this corporation. They are in the shadows. We don't KNOW who they are or what their lifestyle is. We only see the pious GB and Bethel heads. Heck! The GB probably don't really know!!! The REAL powers are anonymous and hidden, imo.

The GB are figureheads, put up on a pedestal intentionally, imo. If you question the business of the org, you are made to feel like you are questioning the GB. And we know what happens to people that do THAT, don't we?! So everybody just accepts the secrecy and are told that it's Jehovah that runs things....lol

Meanwhile, they sign over their childrens' rightful family inheritance to the org thinking they are gaining points with God and giving their hard earned $$ to "further the WWW". What in the h*ll is that anyway? How do your $$ do anything? These people sign a vow of poverty and live mainly off local congregations. Everything in this org (except for printing) is done by locals and volunteers. Think about it..........fools.

Of course many will say "YES!" because the JWs don't have the true religion (like such a thing exists). Or others may say "YES!" because the JWs are a high-control/cultish relilgion.

But are they corrupt in the sense that the governing body actually knows or thinks what they are doing is wrong? I'm not so sure about that.

I agree with you but that's part of what they beleive, the "end is so close".

All religions are F$%#@d up. Is the Catholic church any better? How about the Mormons?

How about the millions that stupidly listen to avengelical ministers on tv and get tricked into sending millions of dollars?

How about the tithing of most religions, believing if they give their 10% and more God is

going to bless them tenfold.........we could go on and on about the corruption we see in all religions.

I think if the watchtower wanted some extra cash they would definetely find scriptures in the bible

about convincing JW's of donating 10% of their income.

So far they have not done it.
