What does a fashion design instructor do?

Design Instructors instruct on any of the following:
-Fashion Merchandising
-Fashion Product Analysis
-Industry Sewing
-Pattern Making
-Tailoring
-Embellishing
-or other courses like Pattern Grading or Fashion Illustration.The list can go on and varies depending what the focus is of the student. I never wanted to be a designer. I like the production side better (patternmaking and pattern grading).
If someone wants to do this my best advice is learn how to sew...well.
