My dad saw them once on SNL long ago and for years he railed about how horribly out-of-tune their instruments were (he had perfect pitch), and I had no idea who the "B-52s" were that he constantly complained about. I didn't know I already listened to and liked their music ("Planet Claire" I remember from 1982), but didn't know the name of the band. Then in high school I made the connection ("Oh that's the B-52s") and I had fun dancing to "Rock Lobster" -- what a great fun song on the dancefloor.

A few years ago I had the great pleasure of seeing them perform at The Gorge in George, Washington - a FANTASTIC venue built at the edge of the Columbia Rier gorge. As they were performing, just after twilight had faded to black, a meteor flared across the sky.
Not even KISS could top that effect!
