Let me tell you a little story (sorry, I'm not allowed to start another thread for 24 hours and I just wanna get this out) :
When I was in elementary school, I was the spelling bee champ. We had a game in class where one person would stand behind a seated student (those were the two contenders) & the teacher would call out a word. Whomever could spell it correctly first got to move on to the next seated student. Well, I'll be darned, but I was the only standing student throughout the ENTIRE classroom. Each and every time, the teacher would call out a word, and as soon as I spelled it, the class would laugh. Some called me a dummy. Or a cootie. Or stupid. But I KNEW I was right. And I won the prize pencil at the end! WhoooooHOOOOO!
.....well, throughout my conditioning and life as a jw, I was taught to ALWAYS QUESTION MYSELF. Second Guess. Third Guess. I'm not gonna lie....I am no longer one of the brightest crayons in the box. I do not understand blonde jokes. (ex bethelite, you will probably have to explain more jokes to me in the future). My intuition is SHOT, although in my profession, I totally ROCK with that skill.
HowEVER, its so friggen frusterating to me that I am the ONLY person that I know personally that does not believe in the Witnesses. It blows my mind, and yet these days I second guess myself about it! I am so grateful that I re-found JWN...you all have some great stories/heartaches that I can relate to. And I REALLY like those of you who've become my friends on Facebook. I just wish we lived closer.
My Husband has been faded for almost 2 years now, but he's still not convinced they're not the "truth". We chatted about it tonight. I said b..BBuuu..B.B.Buuuu...Buutt thEY said the world was gonna end in 1914 ! and then in 1918! and then in 1975!!!!!!!! He said, "I know that's what they (aka-all of YOU apostates reading this) say, but I havent seen the proof yet".....He says that they said in a roundabout way that the world was coming to an end soon, but it didnt state specific dates in the literature.
Holy bejeezus. take a step back.
Now I'm gonna hafta get the actual, real books that cite Russel and Rutherford saying that, in FACT, the end of the world is (was) coming. Any suggestions on how I can do this? Amazon.com? I am totally sure he is willing to read whatever I get (if its the origional bs from the jw's)....how'm I gonna do that? HELP!

Do you think he would be willing to read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz? He will get a clear picture, with proof, of what the WT is really like. That is the best book out there for exposing the WTS. If I had any doubts that they weren't "the truth" when I left, that book erased all of them. I don't see how any WT sympathizer can read it and not be affected.

Mrs. Fiorini, he's already read Crisis of Conscience . In fact, hes the one that brought it home to me. And he's the first one who started using this jwn site. The problem with the book is that it is NOT proof. Well, in my mind, it is. But cant a skeptic say that those letters were reproductions or lies? Yes, they could. What I need is actual jw literature that states all the lies and crap they've printed. I need the OLD stuff. How am I gonna do that??? any suggestions? I wonder if I could find it on ebay.
