Let's see what you get for your donations. I can remember when the congregation I used to attend donated slightly more than they spent. This went on for a while (it was not a huge amount, just $100 or $200 a month every month). The account gradually grew, and when it got near $3,000, they went and donated a huge chunk to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund through a "resolution". After that, people did not donate as readily--why build up even a small surplus if it's going to result in a bleeding off of "excess" funds? And why would some rich person take the burden off the poorer ones by donating more, if it is only going to get bled and result in the other donations still being necessary after all?
After a time, I stopped caring about donating enough to pay for the littera-trash. When the complete donation arrangement was started, they wanted me to donate for the littera-trash in full when picking it up, and then whatever I got from the householders after placing it, each time. They said that doing so was not double-donating, when it was blatant that it was. I would put in whatever I got from the householders, and take that out of what I donate for the next batch so I would hold them to the no-double-donation word (I don't think they liked that--I was supposed to donate on picking it up independent of what I got from the householder. Eventually, I just quit donating anything on my own, and would dog it when it came to collecting anything in the field.
And now they are not getting even a penny out of me, no matter how much hardship they run into. When they start creating value for me, then and only then will I ever start donating again. Until then, all they are getting from me is nothing.
