well beyond 5, closing in on 10...

in several public meetings i have
described the b0rg as a cult...

    i mark their publically placed
    litterature with the JWFACTS
    web address....

i am forgetting the names of
    the congregants i spent 20
    yrs knowing.....

i am living a fulfilling life...

even so, i hang out here...
    my interest on this board
and others like it is to stay
one step ahead of the JWs
    in this relatively small rural
    area where encounters
    happen with a maddening
    regularity....

i want to "always be prepared
to give an answer to everyone
who asks" me to give the
reason for the smile on my face!
    apologies to 1Peter (not)

I figure in the 8.5-9.0 range. I am definitely doing things (outside of being on an "apostate" board) that would get me DF...LOL

I only dont DA because of my JW mom... as long as I am here I guess you are right I will not be a 10...a 10 or higher means you are ex-EX JW...

Except for the occasional nightmares, I'm all out. Put me at 9.5 for a score.

Jeff, I am definitely an 11-15. I was born in, and left at 19. My mind and heart did not leave for another several years. The problem is not the Dubs, or feeling any kind of guilt/regret/interest. One night I was very depressed, and wondering what the hell was wrong with me that I could not be happy. I knew my childhood in a cult was part of it. It's about the lack of tools to deal with life. I'm sure other religions or experiences cripple people too. Anyway, I found this site. I was off and on interested, but not much. I figured out how to be happy and heal on my own at the same time. Then I started seeing threads that reeeeeeeally piqued my interest. People who were fun and funny, and extremely intelligent. As a bonus, they knew exactly what I had been through! Now I'm here because I have grown fond of so many people, and because there is major brain activity going on here at least a couple of times a day. I'm addicted to you guys.

I feel so wonderfully out this year. Give me a 9. I am so over it! I hope my wife can get there. She is like a 6.

I know I haven't hit 10 for two heavy reasons.

1 - I still come here - though far less nowadays, and my visits are pretty short most days.

2 - I know there is still a fraction of emotional attachment to my former 'friends'. I still get very pissed when I know that some people whom I loved, and knew for decades, shun me on the street. Or when I have lost touch with family over having chosen to leave.

But that pain/anger/resentment is slowly leaving now. I have learned those people to be the bastards they are - and I know that is healing.

    I still come here

I am just here because I enjoy the company and discussion. It isn't really about the WT anymore.

I'm a 9.75. I'm here to watch the Watchtower, because my deluded, elderly mother is still in, and I'm here to support people who are newly out.
