I'm a 9.99. I wasn't raised in. Thank GOD. But they JW's did something The Episcopal Church did not do to me, as a kid and teen growing up. They put this fear of God in me. And it's almost all the way gone. But there is this little, teensy, tiny hink of it still there. Once in a blue moon I feel it. But going to Love INc for the past year has exposed me to fundamentalists. Something that at first I felt kind of traumatized by, but now is easy to handle. I am glad I took the Peacemakers class and the Bible Stories Come to Life classes. You have to take their classes if you want to earn vouchers, so I have taken the job hunting class, the budget class, the work book class, Positive Parenting and the other two I mentioned. Julian and I are also partcipating in the community garden and are learning to grow vegetables.

The Almighty Homer
Being a born in myself it took me a few years to finally shrug off religion and conceptual need for spirituality.
Its funny how due to the programing by the JWS everything outside of them was deemed to be worldly and evil ,
even Satanic like in some sense.
But finally intellectual maturity sets in and the world doesn't seem so evil.
On a scale I'd say I'm way out of any given numerical scale.
In contrary now I find the JWS quite evil and worldly of an organization.

I'm about a 5. Its still raw but alot better than last year. If my parents weren't in and I didn't have dubs under my nose every day I could forget them. I'd be a 10 pretty quick.

Well I come here because I like to check out from time to time what is happening in the JW world ....to hear you guys rant and join in sometimes... we do share a common background...... My JW family,friends and ex are all dead ... well not literally but they may as well be .... I morned their death and moved on and enjoy life and all it has to offer. If any of the living dead wake up one day I'll be happy and welcome them back into my life but I don't put my life on hold hoping this will happen. I would say I'm a 10

I still attend all meetings and get at least 10 hours per month (when I'm not auxilary pioneering), but I watch R rated movies w/o even a tinge of guilt. Put me down for a 9.5.

I like to keep up to date on what the witlesses are teaching, but I do not buy any of their crap. In fact, I pretty much do what they do not like--to the extent possible, I will mention that I used to be a witless, in a derogatory term, but I now view the whole experience as a complete waste of time.
In fact, one of the reasons for my being here is to give them a big slap in the face. I also listen to both rap and heavy metal music (including the dirtiest I can find), have a Ouija board, worship the sun (and the Devil) by having those "sun-worship" decorations up all summer, I have several different books on different religious viewpoints (including Crisis of Conscience), and think nothing of watching occasional porn. I never give the religion a positive rating, simply because there is nothing to positively rate it on.
And, I do regret the wasted time and money supporting a scam. Putting money into the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund, wasting time trying to recruit people into the cancer, and going to all those boasting sessions to encourage others was regretable. I cannot get my money back--but if I can prevent an amount of money equal to what I put in that box from getting put in by others, it will (hopefully) undo the damage. And, the same if I can get someone that was going to become a witless to back out while the backing out is still good.
