your religion is based on the premise that you are the "only true religion" .Correct?

Has your religion taught people what turned out to be lies and represented these as coming from God?

    They most certainly have.

Check out this quote from your own publication.

    *** w91 12/1 p. 7 Is Any Religion Good Enough? ***

How to Choose the Right Religion

What will guide us in choosing the right religion ? The Encyclopædia Universalis is correct when it highlights the importance of truth.
"A religion that teaches lies cannot be true."

It does not matter who your Governing Body claim their authority from, they have , and continue to perpretrate lies to Jehovah's Witnesses.

What password is doing is presenting the Bible's message without the baggage of the Governing Body's cult agenda attached.

It's no surprise that you are trying to undermine his efforts as it shows you up for what you are ; a follower of a deluded group of old men who wouldn't know Jesus if he showed up on Brooklyn bridge.

Christianity is the true faith of that there is no doubt. Of course there are going to be people leading and setting an example and looking to care for one another; that others would look up to , but do you really imagine Jesus intended this to mean that they would literally have the power of life or death over their brothers?

Do yourself a favour mrs and wake up to the fact that you have been misled in the most horrible way.

Jehovah's witnesses are a misguided, high control , anti Christian cult.

I attended the district convention with my wife at the weekend.

JW or not, you have to admit that Jesus plays very little part in this religion. Jesus is rarely mentioned at all in their retoric and although there was lots of mentions of 'the ministry' exactly what this ministry is is unclear and certainly has little to do with the good news of the Christ.

What does Matthew 7:22 say, Reniaa? I love how JWs use only part of the scripture.

Very good thread Thanks for that story. And as far as Jesus is concerned this scripture really help my wife see things more clearly

    Acts 4:8-12(NWT)

" 8 Then Peter, filled with holy spirit, said to them:"Rulers of the people and older men, 9 if we are this day being examined, on the basis of a good deed to an ailing man, as to by whom this man has been made well, 10 let it be known to all of YOU and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Naz·a·rene´, whom YOU impaled but whom God raised up from the dead, by this one does this man stand here sound in front of YOU. 11 This is ‘the stone that was treated by YOU builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’ 12 Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved."

Great info passwordprotected . I'd have to agree that there is not a Religion to date that has saved a single person. Only relationship with Christ can save.

One point that stands out to me is the mistranslation of John 17:3 in the NWT which says:

This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

    Most translations read:

Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (NIV)

Big difference between taking in knowlege of someone and knowing someone. Actually this was the first trick in the book. Satan basically told Eve "eat from the tree of knowlege, you won't die, you'll not only live but you'll be like God" in other words, "Knowlege of God is life". Yet if they had really wanted the knowlege of God they could have went directly to Him but instead they sought it from a questionable source. They wanted to know about God but didn't go to Him. Kind of like the JW's who go to the Organization for salvation instead of Jesus.

    Jeremiah 31:33b-34

I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each man teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

I love how Reniaa likes to quote Matthew 7:21

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

She forgets the rest of it....

    Matthew 7:22,23

Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness. (NWT)

It's not the powerful works that condemns these ones, it's that they did these works in name only but never really knew Christ. This makes them workers of lawlessness. Much like the Pharisees were workers of lawlessness. They claimed to know God and the scriptures yet they killed the one they were supposed to know instead of coming to Him for life.

As is pointed out in John 5:39, 40

“Y OU are searching the Scriptures, because YOU think that by means of them YOU will have everlasting life; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me. And yet YOU do not want to come to me that YOU may have life. (NWT)

The Pharisees chose to earn salvation by working the works (rules and regulations) of the law instead of coming to Jesus for the free gift. That would've been too easy. They would rather "earn" salvation than receive it freely. They were always studying (taking in knowlege) but never able to see the forest for the trees.

Unfortunately they failed to realize that if you're going to be saved by law, when you break one, you break them all. Thus you are a worker of lawlessness.

James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Law exposes (uncovers) sin and is a curse. Jesus forgives (covers) sin and is eternal life and a blessing.

We can choose Religion (law) or Relationship (Jesus) for salvation. Why pursue a guaranteed failure in Religion? Only Jesus could fulfill the law and live up to religions demands.

Like you said passwordprotected "Keeping the law and obeying the religious leaders had broken the hearts of the Jews; they had no guarantee of salvation, the Kingdom of Heaven had been closed off to them"

    Yet Romans 8:1 says:

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

I know what (whom) I choose.
