Just wanted to start a day early in wishing everyone a very Joyous Solstice.

This time of year has always seemed rather magical in a way - the shortness of the day, the lack of light, the so-obvious connection with the earth and solar system that it reminds me of. You pagans will all understand what I mean. Somehow I've managed to get to a party of some sort at this time of year for the past few years, and I'm headed to one tomorrow night.

I also wanted to say that this board, and H2O before it, has been a huge help to me over the past two years. So thanks to all. Too many people have helped to name you individually - so a great, huge wish for a wonderful holiday season to you all!

Feel free to add your greetings and wishes to this post as well.

I am sure some of you are saying "Solstice, huh? What the heck is the Winter Solstice?" And since I am sure a few of you are scratching your heads...

Winter Solstice (Christmas or the JW Saturnalia) happens in the middle of December. The Winter Solstice this year 8:21 am eastern time tomorrow -- December the 21st.

It is celebrating the birth of our new Solar year and the beginning of Winter. This is a celebration of inner renewal and rebirth -- or so to speak.

So, from me to all of you -- HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

This is a pagan, God/Christ dis-honoring celebration! Please refer to the Reasoning book pages 176-180. Shame on you. However, it is not to late to change! 2Cor 6:14-18

B.S. The JW religion uses the pagan argument for its own purposes. How come JWs wear wedding rings, which are of pagan origin? Why do the JWs use the modern calendar when the days of the week are of pagan origin?

The rules against pagan origin are used to force JWs to break yet more ties from relatives and force dependence on the cult. It is a well-known cult tactic.

Everything is of pagan origin, dude! Chemistry came from alchemy, modern medicine came from "demonism" according to WTS publications (the Golden Age, I believe). Modern statistics came from gambling. Even some of the things Christ did had pagan origins. Some stories in the Bible have pagan origin.

In case you haven't noticed, Christmas is much more a family time than a religious holiday these days. And JWs sneak into the Xmas act too: JWs give gifts at this time of year and some have "dinner with guests" on Dec. 25 "because every everyone has the day off", eating turkey, "because its on sale".

Apparently, the JW rules on Xmas are relaxing...for years now, a JW wife could have Xmas dinner with relatives if her husband wanted her too. It in a QFR. And apparently there is more relaxing of the rules in the latest issues of the magazines.

So, get a brain and get off your high horse. Let people celebrate with their families in peace. Let them have what so many JW families lack, a close relationship with their relatives.

That's an outright lie. JWs will absolutely NEVER indulge in the celebration of the world's holidays, no matter what holiday it is on the calendar.

Not everything pagan is bad, poopydoo. A wedding ring is one thing, but a festivity is quite another. Now I quess you're gonna need me to explain how that's so, eh? Oh you poor soul you! What have you got up there in that cavity above your eyebrows? Must be air.

Daniel 11:35 ... a KEY prophecy that must be fulfilled before the "time of the end" gets underway.

    Good jw friday

He rejects the once a year paganism (christmas), but gulps down the daily paganism (wedding rings worn every day). He must have separate compartments in his brain to keep the conflicting ideas separate, or he could suffer a meltdown.
