Is the Downfall of Jehovah's Witnesses More Important Then You?

Being a JW actually gave us a better look then most have in seeing different religions.

I quote myself because I felt a disturbance in the force, and I wanted to head it off at the pass. My comment above meant that we were exposed to different people of faith. Having an opportunity to listen to such a swath is rather unique.

I realize thats not the same thing as going to a church or place of worship and learning first hand though. Just wanted to clarify....

    "Egregious"..Notably Bad..Flaggrant..................................After a few beer..Also Flatuent................................LOL!!...OUTLAW

Sorry about that. In Spanish (my original language) 'Egregio" means notable, outstanding. I just transliterated. BTW If you look up "Egregious" in some dictionaries it will give you a secondary meaning:

    archaic : distinguished

Anyhoo, I meant you people are outstanding and remarkable.

Speaking for myself, I don't care if the JWs vanish from the earth or not. Either way, my continued good quality of life depends on me, not on them. I come here to read and consider the thoughts of people who have a background similar to mine, and I do it when I've nothing else to do. It's not a priority.

Spike Tassel (Post 86.1): Here, I will deal with 4 meanings to the expression "Jehovah's Witnesses" in the phrase "Downfall of Jehovah's Witnesses":- 1) those whom Jehovah recognize as his Witnesses (taken collectively), 2) those whom Jehovah recognize as his Witnesses (individually), 3) those whom any of the various worldly governments recognize as "Jehovah's Witnesses" (whether individually or collectively), and 4) those whom the KH service committees recognize as "Jehovah's Witnesses" (individually).

Spike Tassel (Post 86.2): as to group 1, since Jehovah's existence will never cease, then it follows that he will always have his Witnesses, including Jesus Christ, the 144,000, and others who continue serving him without end. I trust I equally have the real hope of being reckoned in this number, though my station be earthly.

Spike Tassel (Post 86.3): as to those in group 2, imperfect Witnesses to him may and do at times "fall down" but, in looking to Jehovah, his word, and his kingdom, they as individuals are "made to stand", as the Scriptures state and bear out, their faith being renewed day by day, test by test, experience by experience. I feel that I have "fallen down" many times, but trust that my continued faith in Jehovah, his word, and his kingdom will allow me to always become reconciled with Jehovah in each and every instance.

Spike Tassel (Post 86.4): as to those in group 3, there have been bans and opposition and oppression of various descriptions, but "Jehovah's Witnesses" continue to fight on, whether they are recognized as such or not.

Spike Tassel (Post 86.5): as to those in group 4, I would hope that a reconciliation might take place, so that all may be one with Jehovah and Jesus Christ in the expansion of true worship. If for any reason, any of Jehovah's Witnesses (defintion 1) are not currently recognized as Jehovah's Witnesses (definition 4), I have faith that Jehovah knows the hearts of each and how to either reconcile or reconstitute, as required.

Finally free: I enjoyed your comments. The only difference with you and I is that I come here when I should be doing other things, like mowing the lawn.

Shamus, you have a dirty mind... lol!

    Jeff,

I did the exact same as you in regard to reading and studing the bible and came to a very different conclusion.

You found yourself loosing appreciation the more you studied it?

That has not happened with me.

Think almost anyone who decided to get baptised must have at some point had an appreciation for the bible.

I will agree that other motives and pressure can sometimes be in play such as family acceptance (or fear of losing your family) and baptism of minors. If a person did not have appreciation for the bible and still decided to get baptised I would find myself questioning their integrity.

You latched onto the "downfall of JW's" part of my title. I guess if you believe that JW's are going down as prophesied, then none of us have anything to worry about.

Except for the many who come here and still have family inside.

As a side note I did receive an email thanking me for providing the link in the post above so your thread has not been in vain.

Does that mean I am obliged to extend the gratitude?

    Thanks

    abe
