Whats even crazier is before this there written language was pictographs like that of the Egyptians. So for example the word for their god was a picture of a Bulls head with horns and then followed with a sign shaped like an L. Means EL. same as the Bull god of Ugarit EL. But shush we dont want any christians finding out their worshiping and Canaanite bull god.
