  Wasn't promoting the Watchtower, never did. You assumed that. They have very serious flaws. Its just that in comparison to Trinitarians and their concept of god the Witnesses are a very small pie. And your violent world continues in the present. A great Warning sign should be placed outside your Churches.

  The Hell God produces violence in people, gives them justification for it.

  Arguing this or that on a Scripture is almost silly when you lack the greater purpose that God put us here for, caring for people and being stewards of this earth.

  though I doubt it was belief in the trinity that caused the violence of past centuries perpetrated by so-called "Christians"

  Take the the crusades as an example, most of the guys involved in that were illiterate,and certainly most were anyway unable to read the bible in Latin, very few, if they had the ability to read, had the bible in their venacular.

  I do agree that the " important things" that Paul urged us to make " sure of "are what you say,caring for people and being good stewards of this earth, whether we personally have a full grasp of theology is not so important.

  Do good, help out in a local Food Bank or Kitchen or Shelter, help a local Conservation group keep your Community clean.
