Girls, when did you change your hair style and length? Or haven't you?

After turning 50, I'm getting tired of lengthy blond hair that I can't take care of on my own. Just cut off 2 inches and it still doesn't feel like it use to...... Soft and luxurious on it's own. It takes untold chems to still feel soft, and the ends are constantly a problem. I use to grow12 inches a year, now, it takes 2 years to grow that much.

It's still as thick as it always was, but so much grey to deal with, and.......it's curling! the last hair dresser told me I had the perfect beach hair.

I don't want beach hair, I want the straight hair I was cursing as a teenager!

So I am questioning, there are so many cute sexy hair cuts.....have you cut off your locks for a cute cut....are you considering it? Are you having hair nightmares after turning 50 or are you maintaing your locks??????

I had butt length hair for much of my youth. I was accused of having a Marsha Brady hair about 12 years ago. I have mid length since. I asked Honey Bunny what he thought of trying a real short do, he said no. I struggle.

Beks, you reminded me of a horrible but hilarious situation about 18 years ago with a flobee. I bought it thinking I could keep my boys and husband's hair cut without spending money.

This first run was on my husband, and I used the longest attachment thinking it would be the "longest" hair cut.....I wound up giving him the reverse.

One pass, and I had promptly made him bald in the middle of his head.

We were just laughing about it now.....I asked him to trim my hair even, and He asked....."Is this my opportunity to get even for that flobee hair cut?"

We are both still cracking up.

There's a lady who comes in where I work. She has a sparkle to her and she is in her 50's She wears her long hair in a ponytail with only the ends curled and she has side swept styled bangs. I wear my hair the same way for work. She looks great. She told me that she lives in Florida part of the year and the humidity wilts any efforts she makes to style her hair. Like me, she thinks wearing her hair pulled back is the easiest and least work of any hair styles.

She wears her hair in a high pony tail, not on top of her head, but up fairly high. I wear mine low or high, depending on my mood. I looked the other day and realized that my hair is about six inches above my waist. I didn't know because I keep it pulled up.

I had always heard that a woman is supposed to keep her hair no longer than shoulder length after 35. I don't know who mde the rule but it worked for me. By the time I hit my mid 30's I just wasn't in the mood to be fooling around with my hair. In late spring I get it cut very short and get the top permed. In the late fall I get a trim and a whole perm. LOL, my dog is on the same grooming schedule!

Does anybody here remember in the 80's when guys used to get theyre hair permed? I mean, what the hell was up with that?

Sorry about the off-topic comment, but my god!

    Have you considered Japanese straightening?

I cut mine with a few layers last week, it looks a little more 'polished' then just me growing out my blunt wide banged long bob.

Why not go with something a bit trendy...... that way when you wanna grow it out it will still look 'modern' as many others will be growing their's out too.

Have you considered making an appointment with your stylist just to discuss what new do's will compliment your face shape and lifestyle demands.

At the end of the day it is just hair, it will grow back......have fun, cut, color, straighten.
