How Old is Too Old to have Children?
Physical answer (objective):
- Menopause.
- Erectile dysfunction.
- Infertility.
Ethical answer (subjective):
- When you can't financially support them.
- When you no longer possess the physical and emotional capabilities to manage the rigors of childrearing.
- When you are near enough to the end of your expected lifespan that you would die before they become adults.
- When your age poses serious risks to conceiving a child (i.e., Trisomy 21 caused by maternal age--a medical fact that hasn't changed, despite advances in fertility medicine).
