How long does it take for someone to recover from that kind of fall?
Have you ever fell from the roof or do you know someone that fell from the roof?

Depends on the injury.....
My aunt was out for 2 weeks, my mom never fully recovered.

A dear friend of mine nearly lost her husband to such a fall in their 3rd year of marriage-20 years ago. He is still alive, but a paraplegic who has no body function below his waist.
My dad fell off the roof wasn't damaged by it, but the initial pain led him to a doc that diagnosed lung cancer-late stage. He had been ignoring a lesser pain for months before that and was 'stoic' about it.
If someone is still in great pain after a day, see a doctor. Chiros can fix a lot that the others can't, and sometimes there is a small fracture that can be given proper treatment or rest for a better recouperation. Don't be a hero.

When I was in high school, I knew a lot of girls whose grandmothers fell off the roof.

My cousin was sliding off a 2nd story roof of a house. He used his power nailer to drive a nail through his foot into the roof. He said it hurt like Hell, but it was less painfull than landing on the rocks below.

Two guys. First one was a contractor who fell off the roof and landed in a tree with just a few bumps and bruises. The other one wasn't so lucky. He was taking down his Christmas lights and fell face first. He had some nasty facial fractures and a broken arm. He was laid up for a long time.

Yknot ....
I guess there's more to the story, but at least in my mind, I can't think of why my aunt or mother would ever be on the roof.

Finally-Free
Last year a coworker of mine fell 4 stories. He had head, back, and leg injuries. One of his femurs is now held together with a metal plate. He missed 4 months of work, and then came back part time and slowly worked his way back to working full time. He still has difficulty walking, but all things considered, he's lucky to be alive.

Tired of the Hypocrisy
When I was a kid, I used to be a dumbass and jump off the roof. My knees and hips are paying me back for that now. I fell twice. Once I was changing pads on my parents' air conditioner and fell. I managed to grab the overhang for a couple of seconds and slowed down. No injury. Another time I was welding up a header on a brick building. I was about 12 feet up, lifted up my visor to see my work and stepped back. Stepped back into thin air. I landed on my ass and back. I was in traction for about a month off and on.....
