Yes, of course I had it underlined. That's how I was trained from birth. I'm also like the above poster. My college books were always filled with underlining and highlighting. I even underline sometimes when I'm reading a nonfiction book if there's something that I find particularly interesting. That early training is hard to lose.
When you were in, did you have the Watchtower study underlined?

I am an underliner, but with discretion. I underlined my college books (highlighted really) . I still do it with the WT reviews but I make comments in the margins for futher checking. I just didn't like the hypocritical underlining for the viewing by others; people who never commented although making a show with an underlined publication. On a side note, I went door to door with people who presented magazines they had not read themselves.

Out of all my cousin that were raised in the truf i would really do my study articles. Then one day i really wanted to hang out with one of my friends and basicly stated out loud that i didnt want to do the Watchtower study as a family after that f**k underlining heck i didn't even go to the beating any more.

Oh ah ha, now I know why I have a colored pen obesssion... it was the WT's fault. Oh the memories of rushed studies... I had all the colors, my WT books and mags lookes like a rainbow circus..

Of course, the most humiliating public indication that you are a slacker is to raise your hand for one of the extra copies handed out when the WT study began.

When we were young my brothers and I used to divi up the paragraphs and then copy each others work....we'd be done in 10-15 min.
Did anyone ever catch the brother handling the mikes trying to sneak a peek at your WT to see if it was studied?I'm dying to write something obscene on it to see if they'd say something.

Honestly I never did get the whole "underlining" thing. It seemed to be like a great big show to let people know that you "studied" your Watchtower. The answers were so easy to pick out of the paragraph it isn't like you needed a highlighter to find them! My studying normally consisted of reading the watchtower and looking at the questions. Sometimes I would look up the scriptures.
I do remember certain pioneers that made it a point to give their "bible studies" highlighters to teach them early how to be a JW and "underline".
