Now you are trying (and failing) to put words in my mouth that clearly do not exist.

Do you even realize, JD, that this huffing and puffing on a public message board is an embarrassment to your person?

    "You, you, you."

Please work out a counterpoint, or something or other, that is not re-directed to insulting my personal habits, which you so foolishly assume to know.

Otherwise, I urge you kindly once again: You and your ill-will and your horse can get out. You are trolling for trouble-making on a topic that obviously does not concern you.

    ~Sue

Going for irony? I am using "you" in the generic sense of anyone who blames their personal decisions on "addictions." Also, if you'll review your posts thus far, I think you'll see I am not the one huffing and puffing.

Doe, I stand corrected on the huffing and puffing.

As per usual, you blow smoke out your ass.

Smoking eventually killed my Mum. But not before she suffered with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) for 11 years. This is a progressive disease with no cure. For those of you that don't know, the term 'chronic' means 'you aren't going to get better' and 'progressive' means you're going to get sicker and sicker with this disease until you die. Take it from me, you don't want to get this!

No such thing as "struggling with quitting."

This is not true. My Mum struggled for years. She used to put her cigarettes in the freezer to make them less accessible and out of sight. I also have friends who are struggling. It's different for everyone and that's why it is so difficult to come up with a plan or program... because 'one size fits all plan' to quitting doesn't fit this situation.

They don't know enough about addiction. They need to do more research in this area. I really miss my Mum.

I love the occasional cigar. It is a pleasure with little ill effect if done properly. Smoking cigarettes is another thing altogether, although some do it occasionally and even others do it to relieve constipation. (I would be more concerned about the constipation personally)

But the question raised initially is mute since the whole concept of "New System" and "Human Perfection" are simply nothing more than artfully contrived stories that seek to sell to followers and other gullible persons, the spiritual materialism of the Watchtower.

Like my mom and dad used to say, "why do today what you can put off until the future (er um New System)". (education, career, family etc....smoking?)

But in this case I would argue the reverse. Have a smoke now if inclined and enjoy life while you have it.

Actually even one cigarette makes permanent changes in your brain structure.

The researcher said that one cigarette relieves the craving produced by nicotine withdrawal for weeks at first, but as tolerance to nicotine builds, the smoker starts fagging more frequently to cope with the symptoms.

    Ok... This made me chuckle.
