Nice goose, FHN. I used to have two ducks. (They were a pain, and ate my two favorite fish out of my pond... including a marvelous 5-inch fantail goldfish. )
I sorta decorate. I just buy whatever I see that strikes my fancy, and try to fit it into my house someplace. I have no idea what you'd classify my style as. Anyone know (see below)? Favorite colors are definately red + gold (most rooms have red and/or gold in them).
Gotta lose the wacky blue vase.
Already lost the blue picture. I inherited a lot of 'blue things', and have been slowly replacing them. Nice picture of a palm tree now.
At nighttime, the colors become even more wacky. I like the place having atmosphere. Several rooms have colored lights and ambient sounds running for several hours every night on timers.
The master bedroom and master bath are where I really just run with my red and gold fetish:
And there you have it! Way more than you ever wanted to see of my house.

HInt, I love your house! You've done a beautiful job decorating and it's so clean. Your taste reminds me of something you'd see in a manor house or caslte. Very earthy and comfortable, but kind of regal, too. Mine is a little more woodsy, children's bookish, nature, but similar in colors to yours.
I posted pics on Snowbird's Say Something Good about Alabama thread of a bay house I liked. The colors were turquoise blue, soft whites and yellows. I love that scheme, too.
Is your house a newer house? I see an older home out of one of the windows, but yours look more modern.

Thanks, FHN. There are lots of 'woodsy' homes around here - I actually considered renting one before I stumbled onto this place.
It's actually a very old house (it even has a cute little root cellar off the kitchen, complete with an old "ice box" - the kind where you put a block of ice in a cabinet above the food you want cooled), but it's been very well maintained and upgraded over the years (with the exception of the drywall here and there).
I'm currently renting, but I love the place so much I'm considering buying it (a thing I swore I'd never do again after the last house I owned!)

Elsewhere,
My sentiments exactly! The guy part of me took over the decorating and decided that it wasn't necessary. It is, of course, it's just that I guess I don't care enough to do the work.
