They need a new business model. Like putting the rags, err, mags online, selling the books on their website, etc. I don't see them having a net gain, especially in the US, with the current model.
Perhaps in the third world where they need hope, but they have the Mormons to contend with. The Mormons do more *good* works for people and are now more mainstream.
They should have read the writing on the wall years ago and worked on becoming more mainstream but instead they kept pushing the end of the world based on the 1914 date. They should have backed away from the blood issue by now but with each jw's death due to their policies they dig themselves in deeper. If they hadn't stopped Witnesses from getting a higher education they would by now have well off JWs dying and leaving them lots of money and they would have at least twice the income coming in from educated JWs attending the Kingdom Halls who would be earning a lot more and have move to donated. They have just been plain stupid.
The first think they should do is allow people to think for themselves. To force people to believe in fairy tales of 1914 is total BS! GB is forcing people to follow their opinions which is too bad. I can see that Russell may have honestly believed in his own BS dates but there is no excuse for Rutherford and the rest of those scum bags! If they stayed with the bible only and not try to include their own opinions on so many matters I wouldn't have a problem being part of the congregations but their dictatorial attitude is self serving and will destroy their religion and I can't wait! They can only sell last days for so long and already people are starting BS of last days of last days and what comes after that - real last days of last days of last days??? It may take a while for blinded people to realize they have been conned but awake they will it's just a matter of time.

7 Million now living as JW's will never live forever. They are going to die.
WTS peaked at 7 million or so and has just been playing with the numbers for the last two years to show some positive growth.
By 2010 they will not have such positive growth even in the tiny fractions they keep hoping for. A couple of years of that and they will switch to playing an end-date for Armageddon. The JW's will tire of it and leave before they die in this system of things.
Everything, except the great pyramid and the catholic church is doomed.
