We all have to die of somehting. Hell, even the water we drink, the air we breathe can give you cancer. So I'll quit when they decriminalize weed or die. Meanwhile, I drink my green tea, my antioxidants and my coral calcium and come whatever may.

    I don't give a shit.

I never smoked before going into the witlesses, I didn't smoke while I was in, and I do not smoke now.

However, this is for personal and health reasons. I never did like it when others smoked around me, since it was unpleasant (which cannot be said about being around people eating fast "food" or drinking pop). And then I learn about the health risks of smoking--adding to the list of reasons why I do not smoke. And, it is a waste of time and money for me--money that could otherwise be spent getting rid of the crap the witlesses gave me in 1996 and replacing it with real good stuff before hyperinflation kicks in.

While I believe it should be one's choice, reasonable efforts should be expended by smokers to ensure that people that choose not to pollute their lungs with those poisons have that right. If businesses wish to go smoke free so customers and non-smoking employees can enjoy clean air, so be it. Same for amusement parks setting up designated smoking areas--while it is not perfect, it is better than having smoke everywhere or having those who choose to not smoke not being able to do it at all.

A warning to those tempted to start smoking: As with joining the Washtowel cult, I suggest researching everything about smoking that you can find. You need to learn what value you are going to get, as well as what the cost is going to be. Is it worth the cost? Will you be giving up freedom to not smoke in exchange for an addiction? And, what happens if you later want to quit, temporarily or permanently? You need to assess the risks to your health, the money cost, the cost in terms of shortened life expectency of electronics, higher cleaning costs (sweat and money costs), emptying ashtrays, and the risk of starting a fire with a cigarette that isn't all the way out or from smoking in bed. You need to weigh in all these costs against whatever personal benefit you might get--and will that benefit actually materialize (or could you get it with a lower cost). Without doing this, you may be as enslaved to smoking as you were to a cult. (Notably, being a Jehovah's Witless is even more hazardous to your health than smoking).

"religious" reasons are actually "judicial" reasons [the expanded footnote in the NWT Reference Bible at 2 Kings 17:26 regarding "religion" is, as follows:— Literally, "judgment; judicial decision." Hebrew, mish·pat´; Greek, kri´ma; Latin, le·gi´ti·ma.]

Isaiah 48:17 states:— This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: "I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk."

Isaiah 48:18 adds:— O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just live a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Acts 15:28 states:— "For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things,

Acts 15:29 continues:— to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled [Or, "from what is killed without draining its blood."] and from fornication [See Appendix 5A, i.e. Fornication:—Every Kind of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse, Matthew 5:32— Greek, πορνεíα(por·nei´a); Latin, for·ni·ca´ti·o]. If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU!" [Or, "Farewell! J 22 (Heb.), sha·lohm´la·khem´, "May you have peace!"

2 Corinthians 6:17 states, after drawing a contrast between Christ's team and Satan's " 'Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves; says Jehovah [See Appendix 1D, i.e. The Divine New in the Christian Greek Scriptures "Jehovah." Hebrew, IHVH (YHWH or JHVH)], 'and quittouching the unclean thing' "; " 'and I will take YOU in.' "

2 Corinthians 7:1 adds this:— Therefore, since we have these promises, beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God's fear.

2 Corinthians 7:2 is also interesting:— ALLOW room for us [Or, "receive us."] We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one.

James, like Paul, mentions the spiritual battle we face. James 4:7 states:— Subject yourselves, therefore, to God; but oppose [Literally, "stand you against."] the Devil, and he will flee from YOU.

James 4:8 continues:— Draw close to God, and he will draw close to YOU. Cleanse YOUR hands, YOU sinners, and purify YOUR hearts, YOU indecisive [Literally, "two-souled."] ones.

Good scriptures spike. This is the difference between maturity of understanding principles of the bible and those that want loopholes to get away with what they know God would not approve of. Tobacco became too big an issue and to confirmed as completely against our bodies and other people's that passive smoke.

If you only smoke in your own home do you think of your wife and kids who become passive smokers to your smoke?

That governments started banning such a lucrative tax option means the health costs are completely against smoking.

and as the Scriptures I used here point out, our health is something Jehovah is very interested in, hence His direction to us via the Holy Writ. Jehovah is very much a personal God, to each and every one of us, whether we deny Him or not. All of us reap what we sow, in whatever application in life.
