Hello and wish me welcome :d

A question.... I know that Job was unaware about the cause of his problems, he didn't know that Satan was causing his problems.

But did he know about the EXISTENCE of Satan?

    I know Moses knew...

    Welcome.

For Job to have had so much faith in Jehovah, Job certainly would have known something about God, His qualities, and His dealings with people.

Did Job know about the creation account of Adam and Eve? If so, then he would have known about the existence of Satan.

Did fictional character A know about fictional character B? Even some Jewish scholars believe that he was a fictional character made to tell a story.

But, if you insist he was real - Islam considers Job to be a prophet. The Quran might shed more light on Job's life. The Bible only mentions this one story about him.

    Welcome todo,

Thesatan (a noun or title, not a name) in the prose prologue of the book of Job (chapters 1--2) is conspicuously absent from the rest of the book, not only the poetical dialogues (3--42:6) but also the prose epilogue (42:7ff) as you have noticed. And he may not be exactly what you think. He may be an "adversary" to man but not (yet) to "God" (Yhwh). In this story he is actually God's servant in the particular role of prosecutor or witness for the prosecution, defending God's interests against man (you can find a satan with a similar role in Zechariah 3).

Satan (proper name) as the enemy of God is an even later development (possibly first appearing in 1 Chronicles 21, where he "replaces" Yhwh in a "bad" role, compare 2 Samuel 24).

The author for most of the material in the book has Job's comforters saying alot about suffering being caused by one's own sins as just punishment for it, but never a mention of it being because of theadversary. I think it would have been a good point in the debate for Jobto bring him upif the author really believed he existed as an antagonist to humans. But it looks like the author just has Job puzzled and ticked about God's lack of involvement in rectifying the unfairness of life.

You don't really need a satan to fill the role of the nasty and powerful character against the hero. Yahweh near the end of the poetic dialogues doesn't come across as all that concerned or caring and that attitude easily can explain why Job's finds himself in his sad state.

    Ok straightshooter...

Jacob died before Job, but not long enough, and also his faith shows that he had knowledge about Jehovah.

He was Abraham's relative and closer relative to Jacob, so he had a source of knowledege. Still , nobody , neither his wife nor three "friends" didn't talk about Satan, or mentioned him as a cause.

wasn't the time for Satan to be uncovered...Proverbs 4:18

That whole book of Job was put there so Jehovah would not have to give people real relief from trouble. Another scam--write up a story about where someone suffered greatly and was blessed greatly after a time. Put it in your Word. Then make everyone suffer greatly, and instead of blessing them greatly, just point at this book and make people thank you for this upcoming blessing. Of course, there is no intention of ever fulfilling this commitment on people today.

    Book of Job=SCAM

We have a lot to learn now from this book, and we should be grateful for being aware of the existence of Satan from this book
