How many here actually still believe that there is a God??

After being gone from the JW's for many years now , and having done extensive research on the history of God and the belief in him , I can't seem to find any logical way to have a belief in an invisble being up there ruling over us. How many here still believe? how many don't?

Most of the time I do; sometimes I'm not sure.

I do, but the problem I have is finding any narrative which I can find acceptable. I can't see that humans are of any particular importance in all this.

If there is a God, I don't think he gives a shit about us. If he did, he wouldn't let good people suffer.

Supreme Being yes. Natural cycles are well the nature of things, we're all just compost waiting to happen so be a good steward of this earth.

If you wake up in Paradise you'll know there is another scene to be played. Stop worrying and enjoy the ride.

Mary, the problem I have is with these terms like "good", as applied to people.

It seems to me that "good" is necessarily bound up with the perspective and desires of the one using the term.

How, in all this God-talk can I consider this God-entity from something other than a human perspective when all I have is a human perspective?

Another thing...

If I just analyse this from the perspective of information/intelligence I'd say that it certainly appears to be a necessary factor for "all this" to be.

I studied with this astrophysicist once who pointed out something to me that I didn't realize from my secular-fun-reading of atronomy/physics/cosmology/cosmogony and it was that "the laws of physics are not a function of the material of this universe". If that is so, then where did these "laws" come from?

Too, every evolutionary scenario (including Dawkins 'Climbing Mount Improbable' - where it's amazing to see how this smart guy gets his math all wrong) fails in important ways to explain the origins of imformation and organization.

It was hoped at one time that all might be split down into physics and the mathematics of physics, however that seems to have failed us too.

At the end there's just a big question.

I do believe. But I got this gut feeling he, she or it is nothing like what any of the current organized religions portray.
