Well according to some Michael Vick suffers from "Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome". It doesn't matter that he was making millions playing football. He just couldn't get over the fact that his ancestors were used and abused as slaves by the white man so he took it out on some dogs. Poor Michael Vick, how he has suffered.

Lots of people have suffered hardships and really bad and abusive childhoods and don't turn into freaks....so do 95% of black men act this way? No they don't, they have great careers and families.

Animals are people, too. I think he should get a job in a zoo where he has to take care of them and learn to appreciate them.
Animals have PERSONalities, so, therefore they are people.
As far as a role model job and star level position: NO WAY! He should get a more humble job.

The consumer will decide if he gets to be a "role model". I doubt he will ever have much privacy again. He probably has requirements like a child molester or rapist would. Can't have animals or sum such. Like a sex offender must register. Anyone who has been convicted of a crime and has done thier time, is able to apply for a job, that does not mean they will get it. They will always have to disclose the conviction.

Isn't it up to the parents to instill values in their children that enable the kids to choose good role models?
I had all sorts of negative role models available to me when I was a kid- but I remember having Dorothy Parker and Stephen Hawking and like, Anne of Green Gables as my role models...
The American public doesn't (*shouldn't*) need their hand held for them...
