RR: It's a book that has words and music
Now that would be something...
I remember going from the pink one to the...brown(poop colored?) one in 1984 and we were all learning how to sing them. The melodies were so off that it was a real challenge. The words in the pink songbook were normal sized, whereas the words in the poop colored one were microscopic, very hard to see.
I remember the green/yellow $ongbook.
Then I remember when they replaced that one with the pinki$h/purpli$h one with more song$ in it... Then they $old tape$ and CD$ $aying that everyone $hould learn to $ing the new $ong$. Everyone was "encouraged" to play the tape$/CD$ to learn a$ a con$tant brainwa$h.

Yeah, I remember the speaker announcing the new poopy colored book at the district convention and saying how the new songs were more modern and had a more lively sound to them. NOTHING COULD HAVE BEEN FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH! The new songs generally blew. There were a couple that weren't bad, but all the good lively ones were from the old pink book.
This topic makes me so glad I don't go to meetings anymore. Our congregation had some terrible singers in it. I remember actually feeling embarrassed when I saw new ones attending - because our singing was atrocious. Ah, good times.

What, no raising of the hands in praise? Looks pretty sober to me. And I really liked the poopy colored songbook much more than the pink one because it had international sounding melodies in it. Some were really hard to catch onto, though. Number 171 about the chariots cast into the sea was my favorite one. Nothing topped that one.
Edit to add: Thank you for posting the picture of it:)
Is that Ulysses Glass on the cover?
