Do you have the JWs leaders' commentaries "Insight on the Scriptures" and
"Reasoning from the Scriptures"?

"Should You Believe in the Trinity?", online at the Jehovah's Witnesses

Hello Doug,
Maybe it is easier to state what the JW theology is not.
John 14:26 (New International Version)
26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
It is sadly ironic how the WT keep telling everyone it is the "last days" but that only they have the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:17 (New International Version)
17 " 'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people. All the best,
Stephen

hi doug
hmmm you want philosophy off us? As a witness you won't get loads of extra biblical rhetoric from us you will get bible scripture.
Deut 6:4 is the start of our theology We believe there is only one God and he is Jehovah/YHWH he is Almighty, eternal, he cannot die he knows things that no one else can know and the holy spirit is his power his, energy.
Then their is Jesus his son born from God. he is God's firstborn of creation the bible states this clearly, he was created so could be the firstborn of creation he was died so he could be the firstborn of the dead.
Colossians 1:15-18 (New American Standard Bible)
15 He is the (A) image of the (B) invisible God, the (C) firstborn of all creation.
16 For (D) by Him all things were created, (E) both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether (F) thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- (G) all things have been created through Him and for Him.
17 He (H) is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
18 He is also (I) head of (J) the body, the church; and He is (K) the beginning, (L) the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
but we also have provs 8 also describing the birth of the first.
Proverbs 8:22-24
22 "The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, [b] , [c]
before his deeds of old;23 I was appointed [d] from eternity,
from the beginning, before the world began.24 When there were no oceans, I was given birth,
when there were no springs abounding with water;Proverbs 8:30 (New International Version)
30 Then I was the craftsman at his side.
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence, this is a beautiful chapter on Jesus's pre-existence and his relationship with God.
Some will say but this is about wisdom then I will show them this scripture
1 Corinthians 1:24
but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.the bible makes numerous references to Jesus being born to God here is another.s
Revelation 3:14 (New American Standard Bible)
14 "To the angel of the church in (A) Laodicea write: (B) The Amen, (C) the faithful and true Witness, (D) the [a] Beginning of the creation of God, says this: we use bible themes, we believe that when God says Jesus is his son and firstborn of creation the beginning of his works, born and birthed to God it is not lying. And we also believe when the bible says God Jehovah is one God we believe this too...Jehovah is one. For everything we believe it has to be in the bible. You want make to make a massive statement of rhetoric outside of the bible no we won't because that leads to speculation. How do we know the holy spirit is God's energy? Acts 10:38
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the HolySpirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. because the bible says it is, it can fill, be poured, used and yet unlike Jesus, satan, angels and God is NEVER pictured as a person even in figurative symbolic pictures. yep, Reniaa...that is JW theology of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. You posted the rhetoric.
Further JW theology- we are living in the last days since 1914, at which point Jesus threw Satana nad his demons out of heaven and directed hhis attention toward earthly affairs. He found a sincere group of Bible students and allowed them to go into a cleansing captivity due to their being unclean. They were released in 1919 and given stewardship to handle Jesus earthly affairs. Bible truth comes only thru them. One must be in close contact with this channel of truth to have any hope for salvation, assisting them by following their commands. Outside of this channel there is no hope.

Yep no "extra biblical rhetoric" there...

and to the JW who quotes me 1 Cor 1:24-5 where jesus is called the wisdom of God, in an attempt to link that to the quality of wisdom personified in Prov 8 I will direct them to the first few verses of Prov 8:
Proverbs 8 (New International Version)
Wisdom's Call
1 Does not wisdom call out?
Does not understanding raise her voice?2 On the heights along the way,
where the paths meet, she takes her stand;3 beside the gates leading into the city,
at the entrances, she cries aloud:4 "To you, O men, I call out;
I raise my voice to all mankind.Need I go any further? 1 Tim says there is one mediator between God and men, a MAN, Jesus CHrist.

FYI:
My eldest is names Sofia and it means wisdom.
RE: Issac's post.
I am sure that Wisdom being a "female" is just another one of those times that "human traits" are applied to a "thing", just like the HS ;)

Doug,
Those questions you pose are the best questions yet I have ever seen regarding a JW's understanding of God vis-a-vis Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Renaiaa attempts to speak for JWs. As per the usual modus operandi, she answers questions you don't ask and provides stock responses that skirt the issue. If she even attempted to answer one question intelligently, any follow-up question would immediately leave her in the CHECKMATE position! Well done.

Psac,
You thought that my relay of 1914, the captivity and relase and appoinment of the IBS to handle Jesus earthly affairs was extraBiblical rhetoric? You do not think any person reading the Bible would come to thaose conclusions?
