Do You Use Your Cellphone At All While Driving?

Occasionally. My car has integrated bluetooth so it might be a teeny bit safer. I am a damn good driver anyway and I honestly feel I am not distracted too much but a phone call here or there. But I definitely wouldn't carry on a lengthy, deep conversation. I usually just reject the call and return the call later.

This is one thing I never have understood about those in-car navigation systems -
You are lost in a strange city at night in a bad part of town. It is raining and there is heavy traffic.
And instead of looking out the windshield to see where you are going - you are looking at a cartoon on a TV screen???

JWoods, have you ever used a navigation system? Almost all of them have voice prompts so you don't have to look at anything.

Yes.
I also frequent the Drive-Thru Daiquiri shops in Louisiana, when I'm there.

I don't smoke, however, so I usually have one hand free to drive, on occasion.

I was behind a guy not 30 minutes ago who was so busy punching the screen on his little GPS thingie that was suctioned cupped to the windshield he didn't see the traffic in front of him pulling away at a green light. I had to blow the horn at him...and then he went 20 miles below the speed limit while trying to play with the damn thing.
I have one, but it's mounted on the console out of my field of vision. I do not understand why people put those things on the dash or on the windshield. A glance at the directions and the computer voice telling you to turn in half a mile is all you need. You don't need to watch the little car on the screen.

We have these in the eastern part of NC...

Agreed. In some states it's illegal to mount them on the windshield.

If the GPS is mounted out of your field of vision, can you still see it? Is it lower like on the cup holder or something where you can glance down and see it? I don't have one and don't know how they are mounted.
