The pictures of your apartment kind of remind me of the MTS school graduation pictures. I always used to look at them in the mags and think, "No wonder these guys are single....."

the fridge isn't that bad just the bottom....use bleach and water with a little dishsoap in a pail, use rubber gloves if you can't handle it....

Why don't you show these pictures to those two British ladies on the BBC and see if they will come and help you. You really just need to do one room a weekend and make sure you keep it up in between. In a few weeks you will be done. Remember you have to organize and then clean. Most stuff comes clean with soaking and then elbow grease. Invest in a carpet scrubber (under $100.00 at Walmart). Can you tell this is one of my favorite topics! I don't think you are a total pig, you're just a guy. Good luck! NMKA

About your table, if you're going to paint it you'll need to seal it first. I expect the oil would bleed through without it. Any degreaser type cleaner might be wise before painting as well. A baking soda paste might scrub some off too.
LOL @ dinah! Really, it's not that bad. I've seen worse. (My livingroom is worse than his bedroom ). And my fridge has looked like that before. It will clean up. Baking soda is a good scrubber and odour eliminator.
