At this other link it says the original quote is found somewhere else.
Does anyone know where the original message showed up?

Note that the post was made in December 2008.

I would have thought a BOE letter would have come to light by now. Has anyone seen one?

The latest for new Service Year 2009-2010

For the new Service Year 2009-2010, starting this September, look forward to announcements of a couple of new members in the Governing Body.

Eventually another two more to bring the number up to a very cabalistic yet apostolic 12. (Ehem, planning for post-T.J. stroke resolution...)

There will be adjustments to Congregation meetings and traveling overseer arrangement. The idea is to cut costs.

The new school for elders will feature the continued advancement of the trained "conscience" of the friends... more emphasis on each one's conscience and disassociation by one's actions to avoid costly legal troubles.

I deduce that the understanding of that change is coming from the above connection and yes it was on that link cattails- perhaps someone will be able to confirm this. sammieswife.

sounds more like they are stepping UP DF/DAing rather than abolishing it

I take it that they are trying to remove the term disfellowshipping which is directly linked to shunning - especially in the outside world. Most in the outside world are not familiar with the term disassociation and so are unaware of the link to shunning there. By removing the judicial committee for disfellowshipping it changes things and if one is not disfellowshipped then what happens to reinstatement? sammieswife.

Yes this has been rumored now for some 9 months (on spanish forums)......

Much has to do with Europe and cries of human rights violations.

While the current Witness 'laws' require absolute shunning, the WTS CCJW has flipped-flopped before and will continue to do so in the future.

I wonder if the data protection stuff includes not being able to read the person's name from the podium too..... (as in no Bro. X is no longer a JW)

Exactly how does this fend off legal challenges? You give disfellowshipping a different name. A Judicial tribunal still meets and renders judgement and somehow, announces that the person is to be shunned.

The "disassociation" scam was started years ago to deceive governments because people who joined the military were being automatically disfellowshipped, so they changed the wording of the expulsion.

If a dub speaks to the "elder-determined disassociated" will they, too, be termed "disassociated"? How many are they prepared to "disassociate"?
