I am so happy that you CAN brag about your grand- children .It is absolutly a beautiful thing to see the cycle broken and a new generation of kids being able to go on to have the normal childhood we were deprived of living .

I started school in 1966/67 and I still remember the fear . My non witness Dad thought I was just being a mama's girl when I cried about leaving her to go to school . He had no idea all the sh*t that had already been stuffed into my five yr old brain about persecution , Armaggdeon, remaining different than the other 'worldly' kids in order to please God . That is a lot to ask of a five yr old ...stand in front of your class during pledge ,but be the only one in class that doesn't recite the pledge or puts their hand on their heart . Sit in the corner when birthday treats are passed out or hoilday papers are colored . Convince yourself at five that you don't want Halloween candy or presents at xmas or birthday time .

It is wonderful your grand children will not have to face those situations . May they learn ,grow ,and be happy because grandma was smart enough to get out of the mind warp of Jehovah's Witnesses .

I remember hearing this repeatedly from my parents. They never expected my oldest brother to reach high school, let alone me. I was the youngest of five, and graduated high school nearly 20 years ago. And yet it has never given them even a moment's pause from still believing they have the truth.

In 1973 I was accepted to graduate school. I became a JW instead, because the end was coming soon and I wouldn't need the education. Fortunately I had the sense to go back to school ten years later. I didn't get the graduate degree, but I'm goind OK. I also have a granddaughter who is going into Kindergarten this year.

    Thank everyone for thier responses.

I sent a like to my daughter this is what she wrote back and asked me to share with you all:

Well right this back to them. I am so glad that my kids are not being brain washed I don't take them to any church, or any religion, and I never will. I think that kids need to know right from wrong. They need to know good from bad. But only so that they can make their own informed choices. I also think that the torment that I went through from the other kids who all thought that I was weird, odd, the ones that would make fun of me because I had to go to the library during political, or holiday related classroom activites. I am a person that is now enjoying all of that stuff through proxy of my children. I go to all the parties that I can that they have at school! "There is power in thought!" Brandi

What little cuties, I have a few myself. They can now make friends, take cupcakes on their birthday, go to football games and go to the dance. Happy back to school! I see why you are proud Grandma.

All these personal tragedies the Witchtower caused.

When Jesus said "keep on the watch" he meant the same as "pay attention to yourselves"

We have to keep watch over our faith, and pay attention to it. It has nothing to do with seeing outbreaks of wars or famines. None of these things prove the end is close we've been seeing them for centuries.

I was told I would never leave school. NOw they deny this, and scream "APOSTATE!" at anybody who exposes the truth about this.

Remember the new version of the Bodysnatchers - those taken over scream and point at others not yet taken.

Nothing they said ever happened. Their are other Christian faiths out there which enhance your life, rather than deadening it with lies fear and conformity.
