  I would like to start a thread to discuss all things related to California fires. . .

  My wife tells me that she prefers our hurricane problems over the prospect of fires. I think I agree.

  Recent news reports say the LA media towers are threatened.

  Last night on the Biography Channel show, "I Survived", a couple related how they survived a CA wildfire by getting into their swimming pool. As the heat raged overhead, they still thought they were going to die.

  We get fires here in Florida also. Last year at the end of dry season, one burned up several hundred acres near my home. Several homes were destroyed.

  Yes, I recall hearing about Florida fires. It must be terrifying to live in a threatened area.

  I've cleared around the house, that helps. But yeah, hurricanes at least give advanced warning.

  The hot, dry, Santa Ana winds in CA really make it a truly dangerous situation. There is only so much each homeowner can do to prepare.

  12,000 homes are threatened. The towers in jeopardy include communications towers used by the Fire and Police Departments.

  Yeah, one of the media towers is for TBN. They had a crawl that I saw last night as I was channel surfing, asking people to pray against the fire. I shot a prayer up, asking that only that tower be destroyed.
