If you are an active JW elder, don't come here asking what you should do on a JC. Why did you accept the position in the first place?
You will eventually crucify the fading or unrepentive JW.
You are trying to live on both sides of the fence. We don't need your double life standards here.
In my opinion.......YOU are the one who should be strung up by your balls and left to suffer.

I read the thread to which you refer, and IMHO, you're misdirecting your anger to the elder when it should be placed squarely on the Watchtower. I wish Open Mind was an elder in my mom's congregation, and then maybe she'd stop shunning me.

Wrong. That's a scapegoat excuse. If the shoe fits, by god, wear it. Quit passing the buck. The WT is just a publishing company. It's the elders who do all the damage by enforcing their made up rules and threatening to tear you from your family if you don't obey them. The elders are the glue holding this piece of crap religion together.
They are scum and people don't come any lower.
Those who come here and know the truth...especially elders...and have no backbone to stand up for what is right...are hipocrits.
Creativehoney...just let it go. I have a feeling the day will come when they will get some punishment worse than what you or I could have said or done.
One day it will come back to bite them in the ass.

Very few who are in with any position will step down. Do you know how long they have brown-nosed and played "I'm better than the rest of you", how many people they have climbed over and stepped on to get their position? They are supposed to serve the cong, but all most want is the status symbol and the title. I'm not saying all who hold postions are like this, but in my 28 years in, I know of 2 or 3 who thought they were doing what is right, and were actually good hearted men.
I have to agree with Creativhoney, if you are an elder still in, don't post on here about how sorry you are about what decisions you had to make on a JC. Have the balls to get yourself out of the position you are in so you will not have to do the same again in the future. Does this sound familiar, "Are you showing true repentance if you continue in your wrongdoing?"

An apostate Elder, in good standing, is the WTs worst nightmare.
He is in the best position to drop seeds of doubt while still being listened to.
If you you want to help your family and friends to escape from the cult, your best chance is by being the last one out, so don't give people who are doing that a hard time. They need your support.

elders are part of the vicious cycle that the FDS relies on for control and feedback. Okay they generally ignore or discipline elders who generate negative feedback but I don't think the FDS can afford to lose any more "good men" so this is a good time to make a stand, imo, even if its only a seemingly small feeble gesture.

Maybe it is a good thing they come here and ask for JC advice. At least here they will get a much more compassionate response than they would from another witless. I do agree that it is so hypocritical for them to be here especially since they would be obligated to DF someone else for being here. But if good copmassionate dirrection can possably spare one other person some hearthche then I say let them come.
