See what happens when you let spiritually unapointed misguided ignorant people take control over other people's lives.

    Shit happens !

Oh well even if they needlessly died over scriptural misunderstanding those who died including all those children

still have the resurrection , its only been a few thousand or so I'm sure.

The blood issue will not be change in the future by the GB for they know the legal consequences and law suits that would occur for doing so ( FACT )

    Chipper:

What was really important, was your mother's strong faith. Alot of people die from transfusions, and all do not recover as well when they have one. They and I still believe that whole blood transfusions go counter to God's law on blood.

My 'mother's strong faith' -- was in the GB's delusional idea that they can 'hear' God. You are dangerously wrong about your WT trained assumptions on blood transfusions. For instance -- nobody gets 'whole' blood transfusions now. It's wasteful, only the fractions you need are transfused.

This IS my point. You need to learn what the WT really teaches right now -- and all the many changes and flip-flops in the past. Do you realize the WT once accepted 'whole' blood? Then, banned it? Then, over the decades, they have slowly started allowing fractions. Now...if you fractionate whole blood into it's hundreds of parts...the WT will allow you to take ALL those fractions separately, but, not as 'whole' blood.

If this seems confusing -- it is. It's like saying you "can't eat the whole pie", but, if you deconstruct it into it's smallest parts, i.e. flour, sugar, eggs, etc. then, you can eat it.

And, no where in the bible will you find any of this malarkey, it's all in the delusional minds of the GB. And they don't care, just as long as their followers..."follow these men."

You mother put faith in the word of God. This is counted to her as righteousness. No one could say that she acctually died from a lack of blood transfusion.

Yes, I can. The doctors can and did. My mother slowly smothered to death, her heart stopped only because there was no more oxygen left to keep it pumping.

You've been learning during your time here:

So the thinking that only the annointed have special understanding of the scriptures is wrong.

I really understand this clearly now, and for one body of men to think they have a corner on the spirit, is to demand subjection to man and not to Christ who is the head and director of the light.

That is a lot for me to say since all my life I had these things drilled in to my weak mind. I learned the gentile times have no bearing to 1914.

Please stay and learn some more. Keep your mind open. I was a JW for 35 years, it cost me my family, my mom and friends. Some committed suicide, families have been broken. The cost is too much, but, the freedom I have now makes the rest of my life livable.

Rabbit: I'm so sorry about your mom. If my mom had become a witness a few years earlier she wouldn't be with us today. She had a blood transfusion shortly after the birth of my 2nd brother. We would have all been without a mother. Thankfully she is out now. Witnesses need to realize that these men are playing god with peoples lives.

Schipper, you wrote: To futher my understanding, the apostle Paul made a statement that he was not of the annointed.

First I don’t believe in the two class system of the organization. I believe that all Christians are annointed and have the same hope. But if, as you say, Paul wasn’t annointed, why would he say at verse 20, But our citizenship is in heaven?

At verse 12 it states that Paul was making Christ’s goal his. He wasn’t waiting to be annointed in the sense that JW’s believe. The following are the study notes from my Bible. I typed them out for you. I had wanted to comment personally but I’m just too tired today. Maybe it was all for naught. Hope you get something from it. I ommitted the notes from other scripture but if you need them I'll supply them.

    1 John 2:27 NIV

27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit——just as it has taught you, remain in him.

    Philippians 3:1-21 NIV

1 Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. Marks a transition to a new section as Paul moves toward his conclusion; this does not mark the close of the letter, however (cf 4:8). Rejoice in the Lord! See 4:4 and note. same things...again. Matters taken up in the verses that follow, which Paul had previously dealt with either orally when he was in Philippi or perhaps in an earlier letter. safeguard. Where serious error is present, there is safety in repetition.

    Finally.

2 Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh. A harsh word for Paul’s opponents, showing their aggressive opposition to the gospel and the seriousness of their error and its destructive, "devouring" results (cf Gal 5:15). Their teaching was probably similar to what Paul had to oppose in the Galatian churches (see intro to Galatians: Occasion and Purpose) mutilators: Again a strong, painfully vivid term; the false teachers have so distorted the meaning of circumcision (cf v 3) that it has become nothing more than a useless cutting of the body.

    dogs.

3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh—— It true, inner meaning is realized only in believers, who worship God with genuine spirutual worship and who glory in Christ as their Saviour rather than trusting in their own human effort (cf Ro 2:28-29 and note on 2:29: Col 2:11-13; see also Dt 30-6; Eze 36:26). glory...no confidence. Everyone is a "boaster," either in Christ or in themselves. flesh. Weak human nature (Gal 3:3 and note).

4 though I myself have reasons for such confidence.
If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:

Paul’s personal testimony, a model for every believer; one of the most significant autobiographical sections in his letters (see note on Ro 1:1; cf Ac 22:1-21; 26:1-23)

The following verses spell this out. rubbish. What Paul now has as a Christian is not merely preferable or a better alternative; in contrast, his former way of life was worthless and despicable (cf Eph 2:3-7)

6 as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.

legalistic righteousness. Righteousness produced by using the law as an attempt to merit God’s approval and blessing (cf v 9) – a use of the law strongly opposed by Paul as contrary to the gospel itself (see Ro 3:27-28; 4:1-5; Gal 2:16 and note; 3:10-12 and note on 3:10) faultless; In terms of legalistic standards of scrupulous external conformity to the law.

10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

As in v 8 this knowledge is not merely factual; it includes the experiences of the power of his resurrection (see Eph 1:17-20), of fellowship in his sufferings (cf Ac 9-16) and of being like him in his death (see 2 Cor 4-7-12; 12:9-10) Believers already share positionally in Christ’s death and resurrection (cf Ro 6:2-13; Gal 2-20; 5:24; 6:14; Eph 2:6; Col 2:12-13; 3-1) In v 10 however, Paul speaks of the actual experience of Christ’s resurrection power and of suffering with and for him, even to the point of death.

11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

    somehow.

3:12-14 The Christian life is like a race; elsewhere Paul uses athletic imagery in a similar way (1Cor 9:24-27; 1 Tim 6:12, 2 Tim 4:7-8, cf Matt 24:13, Heb 12:1)

Not an indication of doubt or uncertainty, but of humility because Paul does not want to be guilty of presumption. resurrection. The great personal anticipation of every believer (see Dan 12-2; Jn 5:29; Acts 24:15;1 Cor 15:23; 1 Th 4:16)

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Paul’s goal is Christ’s goal for him, and Christ supplies the resources for him to "press on toward the goal" (v 14; cf 2:12-13

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

The winner of the Greek races received a wreath of leaves and sometimes a cash award (see 1 Co 9:24 and note) the Christian receives a reward of everlasting glory. Heavenward. Paul’s ultimate aspirations are found not in this life but in heaven because Christ is there. (Col 3:1-2)

20But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Christ’s present power, earned by his obedience to death (see 2:8) and received in his resurrection and ascension, is universal and absolute (see Mt 28:18; 1 Co 15:27; Eph 1:20-22). will transform. By the Holy Spirit at the resurrection (see Ro 8:11 and note) our lowly bodies. Subject to weakness, decay and death, due to sin (see Ro 8:10,20-23; 1 Co 15:42-44 and note. like his glorious body. 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Paul’s goal is Christ’s goal for him, and Christ supplies the resources for him to "press on toward the goal" (v 14; cf 2:12-13

    take hold...took hold of me.

13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,. Not loosing all memory of his sinful past (see vv 4-6) but leaving it behind him as done with and settled.

(Col 3:1-2)

    Forgetting

15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

mature. Those who have made reasonable progress in spiritual growth and stability (1 Cor 2-6 and note; 3:1-3; Heb 5:14 and note). such a view. That expressed in vv12-14. There are heights yet to be scaled; do not become complacent. Think differently. If the readers accept the view set fort in vv 12-14 and yet fail to agree in some lesser point, God will clarify the matter for them.

16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

    live up to what...already attained.

Put into practice the truth they have already comprehended. We are responsible for the truth we currently possess.
