This is what I thought of:
The Thorn Bird
There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life,
more sweetly than any other creature
on the face of the earth.
From the moment it leaves the nest
it searches for a thorn tree,
and does not rest until it has found one.
Then, singing among the savage branches,
it impales itself
upon the longest, sharpest spine.
And, dying, it rises above its own agony
to out carol the lark and the nightingale.
One superlative song, existence the price.
But the whole world stills to listen,
and the gods in their heaven smile.
For the best is only bought at the cost of great pain...
Or so says the legend..
Colleen McCullough, Great Britian, 1980
Here's one tune from that sword:If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, 12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity. (Deuteronomy 25:11,12)
Genesis....
To whom it may concern; PJschipper (post 86) used that analogy in a previous thread about armageddon when describing the genocidal killings of Yahweh in the Hebrew Bible. But correct me if I'm wrong PJ, I love the clang of metal and the twang of light sabers.

"So pullin' a guys nuts off isn't acceptable. DAMMIT!"
Yeah girlfriend, pull on a guy's nuts lose a hand...doesn't seem quite fair
I think you may have the title wrong. Perhaps, the more accurate title is the "Song of Silence"?

Again, I bid YOU peace... and ears... so that YOU hear... the correct song... correctly.
