Sounds odd even for wts, I would like to see more evidence on this one. If it's true and is possibly to appear on Oprah that would be great as I'm sure there as still a lot of jw watching Oprah.

I have actually noticed that the lies are those told by the WT regarding those who leave, to malign them and discredit them to their members.

The accounts of those who leave the org have generally, I have found been true. Yes, like in anything there are falsehoods for whatever reasons. Each case needs to be evaluated to satnd or fall on its own merit.

Angel Eyes - you do have to admit that most people here on JWD are quite skeptical of claims like this, especially when they come in as "Breaking News, Big Trouble". Especially when there is no evidence offered - just a claim.

We have seen many such stories fizzle away in the past.

Maybe you should be equally skeptical of some of the stuff the WTBTS spouts forth as well.

AE- did it say 'is not a dub" or never was? DF= is not.

Of ocurse time will tell the truth or falsehood...

We have been desensitized to "Breaking news, Big Trouble" because of our expectations of a paradise earth being postponed. Remember that scripture that says "expectation postponed is making the heart sick?"

yup thats right...exactly what im saying...isnt a jw so maybe lies....Mel has been put out(hence i said when some are put out) so why would he want to say positive things.(maybe thats clearer for you :) )

Not a JW does not lend to to the story being lies. Someone never associated with JWs generally could care less either way about dubs. A former member generally has a first hand account which may be true or false- must be evaluated on its own merit- not on the basis of whether they are current or former members. Many former members are honest and tell the good and the bad of the org. So, not a clearcut answer either way.

But these eye catching topics are usually much less than purported to be...be it the substance of the story or the effects it will actually have...my observation

Well, as usual, AE, your reasoning is at the ten-year-old level. I was "put out" from Bethel, and yet had, and still have, good things to say about it, thrus proving your over-simplistic theory wrong.

Fact is though, there are tons of stories just like this. Bethel tried to get rid of me once before when I had a very minor injury, but I fought it and won.
