Oh you poor thing! I'm sorry I laughed. Sounds like something my mother would have done to me if we celebrated birthdays. I have a drama queen as a daughter too (she's 12), I wonder what look I would get if I suggested having her next birthday at Chucky Cheese's *snicker*
I love the little snippets of American life and culture that you pick up on this board...I have never heard of them in the U K....

If I had to choose I'd rather spend 2 hours in a kingdom hall than at a Chucky Cheese. At least I can sleep at a kingdom hall.

My daughter is 12 also and never had a birthday party we are recently inactive.
Maybe by 13 we will be out and I can give her a big surprise one at the big CC for memory sake. (she would kill me)
No sympathy here. I love to watch my daughter have fun at Chucky's.

When I heard we were going to Chuck up the Cheese, I figured I could wash down the bad pizza with a pitcher of suds. Last time I was in one, 25 yrs ago, they had beer and some 'quieter' areas with some pretty good arcade games. Not this one. My grandaughter wanted me to get into a little toy car about the size of a laundry hamper. It jerked back and forth for 30 seconds and only cost a dollars worth of slugs. No way. I would have broken it and my wife would have had pictures.
Gregor I'm sorry for laughing at your pain but you have me in stitches with your vivid descriptions!!! This is a comedy routine waiting to happen... or... perhaps it just did!

Well... my wife asked me where I wanted to go on my birthday - coming up - her treat... and I said Chucky Cheese!!!... I guess I'll back out of this thread... I kinda liked playing the games there. *quietly tiptoes out*
