No I haven't but there is one elder in our Kh who is always picked on. He just puts up with it, though he's told my family that he gets really upset by it. He comes across as stiff, opinionated and unyielding but in reality, he's a big softie. Just his exterior doesn't give that impression.

YES, I told one h e wasn't worthy or capable of being an Elder and another two, I told them face to face they were both LIARS. Interestingly they have never returned to my house!

When my former brother in-law took a belt to my sister I went to an elder's house who refused to come over and mitigate or get involved. I called him "Chicken Shit". Then I went inactive for 11 years. W.Once

I told a group of elders in my home once that we could talk bible subjects all day long, but that I wouldn't tolerate them using it to correct what they perceive as a weakness on my part or use it to coerce or browbeat me into anything.

They didn't like that I challenged their authority. Does that count as insulting them!

    My house....my rules......if you don't like it......get the Fu$% out!!!!

I lost privileges (commenting, being on school, auxilliary pioneering) for divorcing my husband. If I people saw I was divorcing but could still comment at meetings it might "stumble" someone. The elder I dealt with was so cruel, he woke me up to the fact that the JWs were not God's org. In my last correspondance to him that far more than possibly stumlbing someone, he HAD stumbled me. If he held himself to the same standard, he would step down as an elder.

You can imagine how well he took that to heart.

Around age 14, I was out in service with my father & an elder who was so pompous. One day, I asked him (the elder) why he picked his nose in public constantly. My father turned around and I could see the steam firing out of his ears. ;-) The elder said "its a condition where it always feels like there's something there." I replied, "well its kind of gross." Once again, I received the father glare.

This is my abreviated version of events. Still sorry for its length.

I firmly corrected an Elder privately.

He was so mad, he tried to organize a JC, because I was 'reviling' him.

He was successful in convincing the Elders of my dangers to the congregation and two brothers were sent to my door to confirm the wrongdoing.

This had to be the stupidest conversation I've ever had with some Elders. I was young in the truth and they thought they could bully me. A nearby Elder knowing how they think, reminded me of the appeal process, knowing they don't inform JW's of the full process.

They came and were very rude, trying to antognize me. I firmly denied his accusations. They firmly said they believed him therefor, I was now lying and added that to the charges. I said, maybe its time we get the CO on the phone. They said its not necessary.

I said, that's not what he said when I talked to him about this, this AM. They said, maybe we overeacted and left.

The next day, they called and said the CO wanted them to follow Mt 18 first, and they acted wrongly. A forced apology.

The issue was resolved but when the CO called me a week later, he advised me to move away from this congregation, which we did.

Sorry for the length, I was hoping to make this story a thread someday, but it seemed like the right thing to do now.
