Hopefully a steadily dwindling number. If dubs are jumping ship as much as reported, the number of halls will have to decrease also.

There were close to 6,000 Kingdom Halls in the US in 2000. I assume there are approx. 6,500 due to increase in congregations since then.

Blondie, Thank you for looking up for that for me, but congregations are different from the Kingdom Halls that I am asking about.

Then I would estimate that 1/3 have 2 congregations in them averaging out the few that have 3 or more with the majority that have 1.

But remember that the WTS does not "own" the KHs. Each KH is held as a non-profit corporation with 3 elders from the congregation in whose territory the building sits acting as trustees (who do not own the building or land either). The WTS would have to dissolve a congregation to take over as the non-profit corporation.
