I was at a bookgroup once and whilst reading a scripture i could see someone laughing near to me so i burst out laughing, after the meeting the elder said " if your struck by lightening on your way home you'll know why"...id been baptised 2months!!

I was severely counseled (in advance) for attending a 1 AM screening of Star Wars Episode I.
The PO felt that this would call my "judgement" into question. I felt that the PO's sanity should be called into question for even mentioning it.
If I could go back in time, I would respond as follows. . .

Wow, Sylvia, I wear sandals with no stockings to the meetings all the time, and I'm not the only sister. And quite a few wear ankle bracelets from time to time. Noone says anything. I hate when brothers give their own unscriptural opinions, especially on the platform.

That was during the 80's when the KH was run by power trippers.
My 20-year old zealous JW daughter wears sandals now.
She's a tiny thing and looks so cute!
