This may backfire on him. Now that he's won a prize he didn't earn, people may feel he's required to earn it.

He's handing out appeasements to countries (including terrorist ones) around the world just like he's handing out cash (that the government won't even be able to steal from the American public for DECADES) to bankrupt companies who have no one to blame but themselves for their predicament.

If you "make nice" to terrorists, they'll still be terrorists. The only difference is, they'll now shoot you in the back because you no longer have a gun pointed at them. And if you give them money to "help" them like you, they'll just buy more terrorist equipment with it. And THEN they'll shot you in the back with it.

Farkel, I think domestically, even the GOP would have bailed out Wall St, they probably would have handled it differently. And we know they wouldn't have touched health care. So I am not on that bandwagon at all. Bush started the bailout, in case anyone forgot....

I am a bit concerned rigt now about foreign policy, but I don't see red flags either. His litmus test in the middle east won't be Iraq, as that will be on Bush Jr's Tombstone. Afghanistan is the place to pay attention to.

In spite of my liberal sensitivities, I am a pragmatic, and really believe we need to somehow, eliminate the Taliban. Having said that, realistically, another Muslim extremist group would in that case pop up.

Iran I am not concerned about at the moment. The loud ones I don't worry about. They are going for economic leverage, not war. Sanctions will suffice with them.

When the other side cheers for America losing the Olympics, gnashes their teeth at our President winning the Nobel Peace Prize, and criticizes him for ordering Dijon mustard on his hamburger - the concept of "backfire" loses all meaning.

Healthcare reform is integral to improving the economy.

If people are really awarded the Nobel for merely "sewing seeds" of peace, then why didn't Neville Chamberlain and Joe Kennedy win it in the 1930's?

They were the two biggest "peace sewers" in the World back then. Why, if they would have reaped what they sewed, the Nobel Committee would be giving out its prizes in Berlin today. Of course, all the Swedes would have first been shot, and old Afred's Trust would have been swiped and spent on tanks and airplanes. But hey! They had good hearts and "meant well", just like Jimmy and Gory, and Yassir! And of course, Obama.

I guess you'll have to take it up with these guys:

a Committee of five persons to be elected by the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Maybe you could submit your names to the Norwegian Parliament to be on the Committee next year and show 'em how to do it properly.

There is news that the Norwegian parliament is going to change the nature of the NPP committee after this selection, considering it a debacle. That's got to be more than a bit embarassing for the winner.

Some runners up include Chinese Human Rights Activist Hu Jia. He imprisoned for campaigning for human rights in the PRC, not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. (Not to mention the symbolic value of awarding a Chinese dissident on the 20th Anniversary of the Tianenmen Square Massacre.)

Greg Mortenson, founder of the Central Asia Institute has built nearly 80 schools, especially for girls, in remote areas of northern Pakistan and Afghanistan over the past 15 years - not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, a philosophy professor in Jordan who risks his life by advocating interfaith dialogue between Jews and Muslims, also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

Afghan human rights activist Sima Samar. She currently leads the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission and serves as the U.N. special envoy to Darfur and is apparently also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

This is a startling assertion. I looked at your links and did a little research. I find absolutely no evidence whatsoever of "news that the Norwegian parliament is going to change the nature of the NPP committee after this selection." In fact, just the opposite.

The Nobel Committee is bound by the instructions left in Alfred Nobel's will, in his own hand. His instructions concerning the NPP are simple:

"and one part to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses. "

The World loves Obama because he is of this World and supports the ways of men who have always controlled the planet. He is a possesion lawyer and a supporter of the Stock Market and private banks which is just a shell game at a banker controlled casino that has no product just IOU's and gambling bets.
